  1. tell her your not available, period.if she suggests an alternate date, advise her if you feel interested, you will invite her.
  2. to the best of my knowledge,in michigan and indiana, the minister pays personal income taxes, but the church does not.however, they have to follow the laws to be tax exempt.
  3. i have to laugh pete,as some older people over here refer to cigarrettes as **.the first time i ever heard someone"smoking a **"i wasn't sure whether to laugh,or be scared. their message of hate will continue as long as the inbreds live.what can one expect.
  4. it is my understanding that there was no funeral for phelps.and according to something i read on yahoo(for what it's worth)he had been ex comminicated by his own"church". i can't say i am sad about this.
  5. actually, you and the good rabbi may be able to interact more often than you realize.
  6. while i"believe"reincarnation(transmigration is a different concept)happens,i can't prove it. as was said,i guess we'll find out.
  7. “Even if things don't unfold the way you expected, don't be disheartened or give up. One who continues to advance will win in the end.” ― Daisaku Ikeda
  8. while i have seen a little good advice,i am of the camp that the dieing persons rights be respected. when my mother was dieing, there were many times she didn't want to talk to me.no big problem,my neice was there so i talked to her.if my mom wanted to talk,we did. i have a brother my mother wanted nothing to do with.my other brother tried to"bridge"the gap and then got upset when my other brother responded with some very vulgar remarks. so i say all that to say this, stay away from that bomb.and advise those who think they know better to do the same.or better, tell them to myodb.
  9. placing falsified information on the license could result in it and the marriage being considered invalid.

  11. while i do not believe in any deities nor have any,the closest to the concept i can give you is there are many parts to the universe as we understand it,and a lot more we don't. hope that helps.
  12. strange dan,i hear that from atheists.never expected to hear that from you.
  13. yes.suggest you register your congregation with hq tho.
  14. state laws vary, but your best bet in a case like that is to contact the police.if he were going to kill himself.yes,he may figure out it was you,but better to live and hate you then to die not knowing.
  15. very rarely does anyone call my ordination"invalid",mostly questions about"am i licensed?"and can i marry people.i usually explain that i am ordained in all 50 states, but not licensed by all.as far as marrying people, yes i have. i have never been questioned concerning education,or qualifications.most of my"ministry"is one on one,and this works well for me. by the way von,it has been just over 10 years since we started this journey.glad to still be walking with you.
  16. specific wording is not rquried in all states.some just require a"ceremony"which could be the couple signing the license, and that's that.
  17. thank you for the information.like i said,my japanese is limited to a sushi menu, and even then i still get surprised.
  18. i don't have services,so a "lesson"(sutra)could be as long as all day(although very unlikely)or as short as holding up a lotus blossom(the buddha is the only one i know of to do this, everybody else pretty much knows what it means).just depends on the message your trying to convey. i understand that the dogchezn, and "american buddhist"churchs are geared much like the western services, but i have never been to one.i also understand that the dogchezn(pure land)churchs have their services in japanese.this really wouldn't help me as the most japanese i know is from a sushi menu.
