Past Lives...do You Remember?
Brother Kaman replied to Zequatanil's topic in New Age Theosophy & Cosmic Humanism
I have no recollection of any past life or lives. It is an intriguing notion but if I don't remember them then I still face an eternal void from this perspective. I believe we all return to the source energy (energy broken down to its ultimate wave/vibration, ie God). What happens after that is pure speculation to me. -

Nor should it. -
Should We Be Allowed To Intentionally Harm Ourselves?

Other than a straight jacket and padded room or lots and lots of drugs, we can hurt ourselves anytime we wish. As far as killing ourselves, I don't think any suicide has ever been prosecuted. -

The unborn child is an extension of the mother as long as it is within her. If you wish to argue against that, go for it as it is your topic. However, it should be noted that those arguments that you are ready to begin have been discussed over and over again in other topics. -

The first pole questions our stand regarding pesonal liberty. Your pole, Mithrandir, is an all together different question. -
In most states you need to have 3 people to incorporate. Officers of an unincorporated church should be a matter of the church. To have a church congregation you must have church members or at least people who attend services. This is at least to the best of my knowledge which is in no way legal advice.

The best day to quit smoking is the day you quit smoking. Just don't beat yourself up if you fail. Keep at it and one day it will happen. I continue to hold you close in my thoughts and meditations and I know that you will succeed.

An Ineresting Take On Karma (And Whole Lot Of Stuff)
Brother Kaman replied to Ex Nihilo's topic in Philosophy & Theory
It isn't wishing for money. It is asking for it knowing that the check is in the mail. Of course, that is not literal, though, I imagine it could come by mail. The point is, that as Gods, we create our own reality and it might as well be one of wealth as of poverty. Must also keep in mind that, for instance, if you asked to become a rock guitarist and never bothered to practice and practice and practice playing the guitar or pursue what is needed to become one, you will never succeed no matter how much or how often you ask. Every time I need money, it is there. That does not mean that I can be foolish with my money and not manage it properly but it does mean that I don't have to worry about it like many do. I consider myself to be quite wealthy because of it. All I did was ask for it and I never looked back. -

I see it as a repeated explanation of my spiritual foundation. Thou art God, Rev'd Rattlesnake. -
That is interesting. Perhaps my cat in more inscrutable or maybe it is because she is an outdoor cat. I cannot tell if she is happy or not. She must be content because she is still here morning after morning.

"Settle down and behave yourself or I will crack you between your horns!" This was regularly said to me by my daddy as I was growing up. They became words to live by at my house. -
I would think that the city of Washington, DC should have a web site and perhaps a link that could answer your questions. Good luck!

Your reality of this world already contains violence or you would not speak against it. Resorting to violence to save your home, family, self could be a part of your reality as well. Dying and not passing on your DNA could also be your reality. Animals (humans are animals, you know) resort to violence to pass on their DNA. They will do battle over territory (home), defend their young (family) and fight to the death to survive (self). Those that are successful are able to pass on their DNA. Thou art God, meredog. The decision is yours.

All things in nature are natural. Humans are every bit a part of nature and there for just as natural as any thing else. Humans, however, have the advantage of being able to adapt to new situations and conditions far more readily than other creatures. If ALL or most humans were to become pacifists, it would be the natural condition of humans. As it is, it is natural for some humans to be pacifists at some level and it is natural for some humans to be violent to some degree or another. My own belief is, a pacifist will be a pacifist until the pacifist's home and family are threatened at which point violence will win out or the "non-violent DNA" will no longer pass itself to a new generation.

I looked into my User's Manual for the Life of Brother Kaman, model 1947 and I could not find anywhere that said that my life was to be happy, safe, fair or make sense. I know we are all individuals so maybe someone out there has a user manual for their life that is more useful. I do know that my life and beliefs have changed over and over again as I learned new things and ideas. I have no remorse regarding things I once held dear and I hold to the proposition that everything in life must grow (physically, mentally, spiritually) or stagnate and die. Right now, I prefer the growth.
