  1. My belief system tells me that the Flying Spaghetti Monster is as much God as I and Assassin are. A plate of spaghetti is indeed God.
  2. Thank you, kokigami, for the link.
  3. Other than simple puns which may or may not be humorous, most humor that I am aware of is often found at the misfortune of others. If you can post a funny (really funny and not just maybe funny) joke that does not depend on the misfortune of another, I would like to read it.
  4. The folks in charge here really need to get a like button.
  5. Having adult human companionship at hand and someone to grow old with. I told my first wife that one of the best things about being married was having someone to grow old with. She freaked and was not my wife for long after that. My current wife of 37 years agreed with my sentiment.
  6. I think there was a similar question asked earlier. If not, i will give the answer that I gave once before in another topic. This forum is the closest I have come to fellowship in a church since I renounced Christianity and found God.
  7. I, for one, believe that the Hindu writings have inspired great, wonderful art. In fact, much of the art inspired by any and all the religions you have sited is wonderful, if not great. Of course, one can surround oneself with great and wonderful art and be very appreciative toward it and still put a bullet in their brother's head for any number of reasons.
  8. It is interesting that there are those here preaching to us that communication is a two way street and we must try our best to understand gibberish from a professed educated person with hi IQ when that same person has made no effort whatsoever to understand where some of us are coming from. I am now finished with this entire topic even if the conversation returns to its topic.
  9. I guess I am finished here. Lordie, you may write all you wish and you may write any way or style you wish. I simply will not read anything you write here on the forum even if you should decide someday to make it intelligible.
  10. Now this is what I am talking about. I can barely understand parts of what you have written and cannot understand other parts at all. If your intent here is to communicate your ideas or to explain a situation, you have failed. I will say no more on the subject and you may continue to portray your 190 IQ and multiple degrees as ignorant and uneducated. By the way, wicked big sis can only steal paper document degrees. She cannot steal education or the records of the colleges, universities or your transcripts. But then, your IQ should have told you that.
  11. Lordie, all we have on this forum is the written word. If we wish others to understand us, our ideas and beliefs we must strive to communicate the written word in such a manner as to allow the reader to understand what we are saying. Free thought could very well be a wonderful thing for the writer but for this reader it is barely intelligible. For one to be as educated as you claim you do not seem to care enough about the rest of us to attempt to be understood by us. Is it just easier for you be angry with us than to try to put your education to work in helping us to understand what you are trying to say?
  12. Patience, or the lack thereof, tends to be my downfall, as well. The other day, while shopping, my wife complimented me for not running into and cursing an old lady because she happened to be in the same aisle and not moving at a speed I deemed appropriate. It is sad when that garners a compliment.
  13. It generally depends on where I go to buy the oil. The oils last me for a long, long time so I do not shop often. NOW brand has a wide variety of oils at reasonable prices, although I am not 100 percent convinced of their quality. I still use some of them, anyway. More expensive does not always equate to better quality. I have seen some real expensive oils that were no better than the bargain oils. Tea tree oil is just as good from a drug store as it is from an oil seller and far, far less expensive. I would recommend starting with the least expensive and experimenting until you find the price/quality you are looking for. Lavender is indeed great for relaxing. I failed to mention it because it reminds me of the cologne my grandmother and her friends used to wear when I was growing up. I use it in combination with other oils where the lavender aroma does not break thru.
  14. I will keep you, your brother and his family in my thoughts and meditations.
  15. Lord of the Ring, although more than just one movie, ranks right up there. There are so few movies that achieve greatness, the few that do really stand out. I liked Cloud Atlas but it was disjointed and sometimes difficult for me to follow. Two of my all time favorites were Forest Gump and The Color Purple.
  16. Keep the peppermint oil away from your eyes, however. It is a volatile oil and tends to burn the eyes if it gets too close.
  17. I would use essential oils of sandalwood, rosemary and bergamot for relaxation. Sometimes I rub my temples with peppermint oil 3 drops per 1 tbsp apricot kernel oil or 1 tbsp grapeseed oil. Eases tension headaches as well as relaxes me. I know of nothing specific to help with her affliction, however.
  18. I make numerous lotions and potions from essential oils and I also believe that they "could" help. That said, I have no idea which oil or combination of oils could do the trick. It is like saying medication could help without saying what medication.
  19. I know what you mean. My sinuses are very dependent on the air pressure. Sunny - high pressure and my sinuses suck up into my head and give me painful sinus headaches. Low pressure and my sinuses feel fine. If I go too long in high pressure, the low pressure will not help. When that happens, I could get a sinus infection or at least a very snotty nose and sinus drainage causing sore throat and coughing when the sinuses finally break loose.
  20. Never heard of it so I did a quick google search. There is a wealth of info on the internet. I would begin my reading there if I were interested.
  21. Some how I don't keep friends like that. I can be friendly with most anyone but my friends remain my friends out of mutual respect. When the respect disappears, so does the friendship.
  22. All peoples of the Earth have created God/Gods in their own image. To look upon the face of God, look no further than the mirror. Thou art God.
  23. As far as I am concerned, the sentence I quoted says it all. Exactly.
  24. And that is it in a nutshell, isn't it? Why work if the "government" will give me a check? Last time I looked the "government" was the people. That means, why work if I and other's like me will support you. Why, indeed.
