  3. well, Josh.. Without giving out too much information, there will likely NOT be another installment from Matt. yes, my dear, but the fun is in the trying, is it not?
  4. Not like you, homie, not like you..

  5. So, here I was floatin around the board the other day. I get this nomination for a Saint. I consider it, and think, yeah, I can agree with that. So, I shoot the boss a letter. He agrees with me, and we get it shipped out. It arrived today. Here's the contents of my letter to Kevin. Congrats, koki...well deserved
  6. the page you went to (http://ulchq.com) is in fact the parent organization of the Universal Life Church. It is the headquarters church which records all ULC ordinations. Their records may be outdated, but they really are legit.
  7. Wisconsin requires letters of sponsorship for out of state ministers wanting to perform weddings. Koki writes these letters so that the legal people are satisfied that someone can "vouch" for the minister.
  8. I've seen so many stories about how people are using their ordination. Some people have actual brick and mortar churches, some people have se tup web ministries, some people did it just to perform a wedding for a friend, and some people did it just because they like the idea of being a minister! So, what's your story?? As for me, I freely admit that I did it, initially, as a joke. I had NO idea what the ULC was all about. I was ordained before I made my first post on the old Snitz forum. There, I found a community of people that interested me, so I jumped in with the odd news story (funny stuff that I'd found on the internet.) Kevin noticed, and gave me my very own little section. "News flashes from Murph." And from there, I took on a few more areas, and eventually, took over the whole thing!
  9. Sounds to me like all the minister needs to do is sign the license and submit it to the circuit court. However, as always, your best bet is going to be contacting that circuit court and determining whether or not your friend needs to "register" as a minister, or if signing the license is good enough.
  10. I'll have to look later, youtube is blocked at work. pft. like I'm supposed to be workin or something.
  11. sorry, I thought that said "alpaca on a train."
  12. I didn't have the heart to tell him.
  13. happy to help. welcome aboard.
  14. I guess the best way you'd look at it is....counsel the person as you would counsel a friend or family member. If you get out of your league, don't hesitate to say so. I would recommend the S.O.U.L course from the bookstore here. http://www.ulc.net/index.php?page=shop (and search for S.O.U.L.)
  15. As a minister you can perform spiritual counseling. However, before you try to do "mental" counseling, you may wish to take a look at your local community colleges and see what kind of certificate programs they have available. States do not regulate the peaceful conduct of ministers. You can officiate marriage, perform funerals, baptisms, preach, teach, counsel and perform all other peaceful rites of the clergy.
