  1. I don't expect everyone to agree about everything. That would be boring. I do expect your debates to be civil and respectful. You don't have to subscribe to a belief system, or lack thereof, to be respectful of a person's right to have that belief system, or lack thereof. Thinly veiled insults are becoming more and more of an issue. If you come here to bicker, please find another outlet. If you're here for respectful debate and discussion, our door is open. If you encounter people on the forum whose postings you just can't stand, u
  2. Okay so we're going to stop this here. I've gotten a few reports on this topic, and others, and I'm usually a bit reluctant to step in and be a baby sitter. Sometimes, though, it's necessary. I have seen a lot of baiting, and a lot of attacking of other people, in these posts. Really, from what I'm looking at, it's petty bickering over really minor stuff. So we're going to stop this topic here, and send everyone to their corners to think about what they've done. I hope that in continued posts, everyone can be more civil to each other, and if one MUST attack, attack the mess
  3. Dear Forum Participants, Over the past few months, I have stepped in occasionally to take a look at how this experiment is progressing, and I have to say that I'm a little disappointed. I see a lot of posts where members are attacking other's religious beliefs, intelligence, and any number of other subjects. I gotta warn you now, this isn't going to go on for too much longer. I would hope that you have all at least taken a quick glance at the forum rules at some point during your tenures here. These are rules that all members have agreed to abide by
  4. I am currently in the process of determining the status of the forum administration. Until such time as I am able to figure out where everyone stands, I would remind everyone of the forum rules and ask that you abide by them. After further review, it may come to pass that certain housekeeping duties be attended to in abrupt fashion. Topic locked.
  5. If you find you are not able to post/read/whatever in certain areas of the forum, please post here so that I can fix the permissions that she messes up
  6. (Posted on Facebook Saturday, but not here because I was ill.) It is with great sadness that I must report the passing of RevAl, or Atwater Vitki. Members here may know him from the ULCOnline forum. He was one of our moderators. Al was a great guy. I enjoyed working with him. He was always a voice of reason, and he was known to put others first. He was an amazing person, and he will be missed. This is the message that was passed along by an old forum friend, from his daughter: "It really breaks my heart to have to say this. One of the most import
  7. Due to illness this weekend I hadn't gotten to post on the forum. I will be fixing that right now.
  8. Congratulations Andre and everyone at Headquarters! Thanks for keeping up the fight and supporting us through thick and thin!
  9. I have unpinned the topic. This was a MEMBER run (not an official function. Unfortunately, after 12 years, it ran its course. If mdtaylor decides to reopen this in the future he may do so.
  10. oh, they've been pickin on me for 15 years now. I'm used to it Can you believe that, mererdog? We've known each other for over 15 years.
  11. I moved this topic to the Legal area to better assist.
  12. I bumped you up to the members group.
  13. I'm still seeing some issues like mererdog stated above, even after the upgrade... I'm also totally unable to access some topics. I still think it's database related, so Kevin and I and the host will have to fight that out. On it, might take a bit.
  14. I'm doing okay, thank you. I believe I have fixed the issues (I ran an upgrade), so please let me know if there are still issues that persist.
  15. Yeah, they did some "optimizing" of the web server the other day, which crashed the database. They said they fixed it, but I'm not sure they fixed it all the way. I'm working on it now.
  16. unfortunately that is more a limitation on the forum software, rather than our preference. That said, I'll see if there's a way to make that change. Might take a while, tho, as it'd probably be pretty deep in the programming.
  17. California is pretty open when it comes to us performing marriages. No need to register or anything. Fill out the marriage license, sign it where it says to sign it, and send it in. I've performed 2 weddings in CA. Even as an out of state minister, no registration or anything was required.
  18. No, I ain't dead. I haven't stopped smoking again yet, either. I've been super busy runnin here, there, and everywhere. I'm still trying to empty my house of some uninvited guests. I also just underwent oral surgery on Friday. I swear I'm a heck of a lot more busy since I got divorced, and gained an extra wife and 3 extra kids. Life's good, tho. I have no real reason to complain.
