Graveside Service
Brother Kaman replied to Rev Jelf's topic in * Welcome - ULC Minister's Introduction Junction *
Why should grave side be any different than indoors? Perhaps it should be shorter, maybe a eulogy and a few attendees to speak about the deceased life and accomplishments. A beginning prayer and an ending prayer. -

Wedding In Italy

Try the Italian consulate. They should provide you with the information you are looking for. -
The Earth is flat as in flat upon a disc. Get close to the edge of the disc and you will see curvature.

Looks flat from what I can see with my eyes. Pictures don't count, they can be doctored.

That only proves that you don't look to them as martyrs. Could be that the Muslim world remembers them quite differently.

History is written by the victors and, remember, the war is not over.
-
Are you speaking for the Muslim world when you say the names or what they have looked like have been forgotten?

It is good that someone can remind us that we spout meaningless blather.

My "gut" feelings have never led me astray, though, analysis would probably never find the reason that it is so. Maybe that is why I am God.

Does God Forgive Everyone Who Asks For It?
Brother Kaman replied to Assassin's topic in Stories & Texts Archive
I think that first one must believe there is a God and then one must believe that God is actively involved in human affairs and then go on to believe that God would require forgiveness. God and forgiveness mostly exists with perceptions of the God of Abraham and has little bearing on other religions. -

What? You need forgiving now? I don't see as I need to be forgiven. What difference does what make? -

Buddha (not a God), told us that we can be responsible to no one but ourselves. Of course, then we are responsible to God because I am God, you are God and we, collectively are God including Buddha. -

I never ask for apologies. If it does not come forth freely and without prompting, it is meaningless. -

I could easily forgive the woman, knowing that it is "our nature" to do the things we do including getting mad for whatever reasons. That said, I'm going to limit my proximity to the woman and possibly invite the law to take a hand in it. -

If I put my hand in a burlap bag filled with rattlesnakes and was bitten, I can forgive the snake because that was the snakes nature. That does not mean I will put my hand in the bag again. I will not forget what happened the first time I put my hand in. -
Are First Gandchild
Brother Kaman replied to scotty44's topic in * Welcome - ULC Minister's Introduction Junction *
Congratulations, scotty44. I have 10 of the little boogers and don't know but a few birthdays. The oldest just had his 22nd birthday and the youngest is 10. They will wear you out and make you old if you let them. Kinda fun letting them, though. -

Probably not in your "God's" kingdom. You would have to believe that if a sin is unforgivable to you and you believe your "God" is the real "God," then it must stand to reason that your "God" would find it unforgivable, as well. -

You speak as if these were all different people. -
No such thing as a free lunch. Free school lunches are provided by those who pay for theirs.

As I said before, a book is a book. Paper, ink, glue and binding. Perhaps digitized on other media. A collection of letters, words and sentences. Nothing about it is evil. Only the actions taken by one who reads a book can be called good or bad by a society. Same for video games, music or a man on a soap box in the local park or even an internet forum.
