  1. I do not know what the object was that I saw... whether it was man-made or extra-terrestrial, I cannot say. I am certain that IF they exist, they were most certainly creatures created by the same Creator that shaped our Earth and formed every known life-form.
  2. Grateful... it has been published. http://rockrivertimes.com/2009/08/12/kieth-nielsen-never-came-back/
  3. Hex, I believe that as a representative of this site, Dorian MUST refrain from making the assertion. In 1993, I was interviewed by a reporter from my local paper writing an article about a certain public figure's sudden departure from the union's leadership. During the interview, I asserted that that individual was being investigated for embezzlement and misappropriation of funds from the local union of which I was an officer. I was on the auditing committee. I was investigating the loss. I KNEW there was money "missing". I KNEW he was responsible for the account that was missing money. I KNEW he had taken the funds. To make a long story short.... Knowing the truth, but not being able to prove the truth, is what makes libel suits.
  4. Sorry, but I have absolutely no interest or desire to frequent nor promote (by adding a hit), a non-Christian (which I read as "Anti-Christian") site.
  5. Nice, BrDevon. Now for today's lesson.... 3. There's nothing wrong with making a mistakes. Just don't repeat them.
  6. In one of the topics I posted in recently, I quoted one the life-lessons my Grandfather passed on to me many years ago. I was reminded by a friend of what a practical and intelligent man he was, and I decided to pass on a couple of the gems of knowledge that he shared with me. My Grandpa didn't waste words, and had little patience for folks that took 10 minutes to say what could be communicated in two. He was a fountain of "Folk Knowledge" and I was blessed to have been instructed by him. I'm going to start by sharing my two favorites, and then add one every other day or two. 1. Once a mule's made up it's mind, only a bullet will change it. 2. Nobody know less than the man who knows it all. Everyone has their own favorites, so if you'd like, please feel free to contribute yours!
  7. From friends I got- "You're a WHAT?" From family I got- "You're kidding, right?" Strangers are skeptical, but God seems to be OK with it.
  8. This topic was introduced back in September while I was unable to access the site, and I'm glad these current comments were posted, and the topic reopened, so I could comment. First of all, Suz, my personal experience with "channeling" and "automatic writing" has led me to doubt the purpose and motivations of the originator of the information derived using such techniques. That is not to say the questions you presented aren't worthy of consideration... My answers to them are based upon my personal understanding of the Laws of God and the Universal Laws that govern all life. 1. Why are we actually here and what is it exactly apart from the biochemical and other components that we are? Our physical bodies are merely the temporary abodes chosen by our souls to convey us through this material existence. These bodies may well be influenced and governed by the Laws of Nature, but the spirit (when properly attuned to the Will of the Infinite) is not subject to those restrictions, and may overcome the physical limitations generally imposed upon physical beings by the Laws of Nature, granting the individual the ability to manipulate their physical surroundings (bending spoons, parting large bodies of water, walking on water, etc.). However, the soul cannot escape or evade the immutable Laws of God, specifically the Law of Karma. 2. What is the point and purpose of existence? --this is for all believers, and non believers inclusive? The point and purpose of each incarnation of the soul is to rectify a previous breach of the Universal Laws of God, or to aid and assist another soul in their development. 3. If we presume --as some, that there is no afterlife, then why are we (most) clinging to life? If we go with that theory is it not easier and better to end it sooner or later? Call it arrogance if you will, but my CERTAINTY of the after-life and the continuation of my life-force (soul) beyond the current existence has granted me a sense of peace. I am in no way fearful of the demise of this physical shell. Whether the end comes today or 120 years from now makes little difference to me. My biggest fear in an extended life-span this time around is that I will have failed to correct, or (God forbid) assume further personal flaws that would prevent my reunion with my Maker. 4. Why have children--simply to perpetuate the cycle of suffering??--if we presume that is no God, no spirituality, no faith as Hyper surmises--which maybe correct, non of us can prove the `pro or contra` for it is simply personal experience of experiencing the divine. The desire to physically reproduce has been described as one of the most basic and strongest of the fundamental Laws of Nature. The drive to perpetuate the race may be the reason children are produced, but their purpose, besides bring joy to our lives, is to present souls with the opportunity to reunite with other souls tied together by the Law of Karma. 5. Why are we killing each other, the planet and all of creation deliberately? The Law of Karma demands an eye for an eye. The penalty for the taking of another's life is the loss of your own by the person you killed. Since that cannot be accomplished in one life-time, you must return to offer your life to your victim. This vicious cycle of violence can only be broken by applying the Law of Forgiveness. This is the basis of the teachings of the Christ (as well as Buddha and Zoroaster), turning the other cheek is refusing to be tied to your tormenter, and releases you both from the necessity of returning to satisfy the Law of Karma. (BTW- I liked what RevAl said above.)
  9. Fawzo, my friend.... I never met the Man in person either, but I have been blessed to be personally aquainted with Him through the Holy Spirit, and despite my many faults, believe that my witness to the Truth that He taught is just as valid as the witness of those He touched while in the flesh. That is the Hope that Christ holds out to all mankind... that we need not to have lived when He walked the Earth to be eye-witnesses or apostles, and benefit from the Truth of His message.
  10. I recently (last year) read a novel, The Lion of God, that gave a revealing perspective of Paul- his education, reasoning, and motivation in his effort to promote and spread the teachings of the Christ. He was charged with taking the message to the Gentiles, where the other disciples dedicated themselves to the conversion of the children of Israel. The fact that he was more successful in his mission than the others were in theirs may be the reason that his letters and views are so prominent in the texts of the New Testament.
  11. I just googled The Book of Shadows, checked wiki, and went to several sources selling the book.... it seems (to me) that it's accepted by it's users as a practical guide to the practice of their beliefs.... just because it doesn't have the words "WICCAN BIBLE" printed on the cover, doesn't mean it isn't used as such.
  12. This topic was stared while I was unable to connect with the site and I missed it completely... Rev Rainbow, I am so sorry that my condolences are so tardy. As to the poem in the original post... I, too, see God in everything, and one of my best free verse poems expresses simular sentiments as your poem, Newt. I like it!
  13. I;m so happy to hear the GREAT NEWS!!!! Now, just out of curiosity (please, no offense intended).... do you credit progressive medicine or prayer? Please relay to Kay that my prayers for you both will continue!
  14. I'd like to start by saying that hypocrisy and intolerance are not traits restricted to the believers of any one faith.... As I claim closest adherence with the teachings of Jesus, and believe that His words of Peace and Goodwill are the hope of all mankind, I call myself a Christian. As such, I think there are several spiritual philosophies that parallel my own, and think that their mutual goals could be facilitated by a closer affiliation. The peaceful practices of the Buddhists are certainly admired, and if aligned with Christian efforts, together they could do much more to alleviate the suffering all across the globe. However, there are several differences among certain others that would prevent any combined enterprises. I share no illusion of ever seeing enough in common with a Satanic church to join in any endeavor. Their purposes are too diametrically opposed to mine for us to ever find satisfaction in association.
  15. It seems that the "final" book of the Game of Throne series, A Feast for Crows, wasn't the last book. I finished A Dance with Dragons (talk about a waste of paper, ink, and 2 weeks of my life)... What a disappointment!!! I won't reveal the ending because someone else may be reading it... but I was not happy with the outcome. Since I've not been able to find The Complete Jesus in my local library (I guess I'm going to have to order it), I've decided to reread The Bible. The version I'm reading is titled The Living Bible, it's a modern English translation and is the easiest to read. (Don't worry... I won't spoil the ending for ya!)
  16. I AM WHAT I AM. ARE YOU WHAT YOU SAY YOU ARE?

  17. Please.... DON'T STOP! Your view on this topic is very much appreciated (by at least 2 of us)!
  18. We've had snow for 6 days straight. Gotten 6-8 inches and the roads are dangerous. I'm ready for summer!
  19. Missing My brother Doc... Rest in Peace, Doc

  20. Missing My brother Doc... Rest in Peace, Doc

  21. I've been reading along...... Having related my experience in another topic, I won't repeat myself, but simply state that believe I have shared many life-times with my wife (we've killed each other several times)... Only Forgiveness or Atonement can erase a Karmic debt.
  22. Welcome to the club, Akia! I'm not sure how profitable the marriage business is where you live (Vegas, maybe?).... And though I personally wish that your motivation to join had been more spiritually than finacially motivated.... regardless, please accept my hardiest "Welcome to the Asylum!"
  23. The Complete Jesus sounds like it's right up my alley. I'll look for it. Thanks!
