Songster
I am not a card carrying member, but the American Democratic Socialist's doctrines and platform most closely conforms to my Utopian ideals. Basically, I desire to live in a society that is based on compassion, empathy, and respect, and where a community of workers contributes, controls, and benefits from the production and distribution of all products and services. http://socialistparty-usa.org/platform/ Link to comment
emalpaiz
I have never been a member of any political party, but I do have a liberal tendency. Probably that is why I have never been a member of any political party.Hermano Luis Link to comment

Atwater Vitki
"post script if I messed up the multiple quotes and colors - hopefully a kind hearted moderator will help me - I can't figure out how to preview this thing and I am prone to screwing up such postings so thanks in advance. Von" Von- when you post a reply, at the bottom right of the reply box there's two buttons, one says "Post" the other "More Reply Options", click on "more", even if you've started to write, then at the bottom of that reply box you'll have the "Preview" option that will show your To Be Posted response above your edit box.Hope that helps.Blessings,Al Link to comment
panpareil
I am not going to dignify this with a reply.Furthermore this topic was not intended to argue but simply to understand each others political inclinations.I was only expanding on my original brief response in reply to your apparent request for elucidation, and had no intent to be argumentative but explanatory.Although I could have left the third sentence out, which is probably responsible for your feelings, and adds nothing. Dorian Gray
Your PERSONAL issues Score is 90%Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 60%According to your answers, the political group that agrees with you most is...Libertarians support maximum liberty in both personal and economic matters. They advocate a much smaller government; one that is limited to protecting individuals from coercion and violence. Libertarians tend to embrace individual responsibility, oppose government bureaucracy and taxes, promote private charity, tolerate diverse lifestyles, support the free market, and defend civil liberties. Brother Kaman
According to the test, I am a Libertarian. I would not have labeled myself such, although, I believe Ron Paul is the only Republican candidate that makes any sense what so ever. I also think that the test is over simplistic and does not provide real evidence of anyone's political leaning. Link to comment
Songster
According to this questionnaire, I'm considered a "centrist" bordering on statist, so I agree with Bro. K here ("....the test is over simplistic and does not provide real evidence of anyone's political leaning."). Link to comment
Etherman
Though there may be some overlap, anarchism and libertarianism are not the same. Anyway, I'm an anarchist. Government is an unnecessary evil. Link to comment
Carl Harry Carlson
If you want a good general idea of where you stand politically, this is a really interesting site:http://www.politicalcompass.org/Not only does it show you where you are on a scale from "Left" to "Right" but it also has "Y" axis ("up and "down") that shows you where you are compared to others on a Libertarian vs. Authoritarian scale.it's based on a lot of political economic and social opinion multiple choice questions.Enjoy. Compare. Link to comment
Brother Kaman
Thank you, Carl Harry Carlson. It turns out that I am real close to center on the politics with a libertarian leaning on the economic scale. I am not sure if I would have thought of myself like that or not. Interesting. Interesting.Yeh, me too, Bro.I think it's interesting that the site places all of the presidential candidates, including President Obama, very close together, right of center economically and high on the "Authoritarian" scale.
