You literally claim that kids who mock someone deserves mauled by bears...that's sick. -
If Christianity were proven true
cuchulain replied to Jonathan H. B. Lobl's topic in Monotheist Theologies & Scriptures
It's been posited that the Christian God is real, he produced morality, and that morality is rigid. God commiting evil can't happen. But mauling kids is evil, so the rest falls under suspicion as well. -
If Christianity were proven true
cuchulain replied to Jonathan H. B. Lobl's topic in Monotheist Theologies & Scriptures
A moral code that allows for the mauling of kids for making fun of someone is immoral at it's core. Even if they wished that person harm or death...mauling is extreme. Period. -

Dan always acts surprised to learn that I don't support abortion. And I am a republican. Like these are exclusive to christians. His response is we are immoral and so cannot question the morality of others... -
If Christianity were proven true

Probably correct. I was answering Dan...something I should have known better to do, in retrospect, when he said we just don't like the message. True enough, I don't like the message that endorses so much evil. I don't like lots of different mythologies any better, though. Lots of them paint their deities as pretty evil characters, or at least flawed. But alas, you are right. It was off topic. Apologies. -

It's a given I believe for most that killing those innocent of a crime or killing kids is morally wrong. Yet Christianity has tricked countless into believing 2+2=5, or that this obviously immoral act is good. God sends two bears to kill 42 kids because one called his guy bald. 41 of them didn't do anything... but still got the death penalty for the one who did. That's immoral. -
Nope. Because God is fictional and provides nothing. Science provides the internet.

respect of beliefs for the atheist
cuchulain replied to cuchulain's topic in Freethought, Secularism, No Religion
worse. They won't bother, assuming I am simply a damned soul who is beyond redemption and they will somehow use this to justify their beliefs. -

The same god who sent two bears to kill 42 kids in a town because one said, 'go up bald head''. One...the other 41 did nothing and got mauled anyway. At least according to mythology. -
How Einstein Reconciled Religion to Science
cuchulain replied to RevBogovac's topic in Philosophy & Theory
I agree that the Bible has its points. That's never been a thing I denied. I have only denied that it's a history book. And that ALL of it is good. -

https://www.washingtonpost.com/history/2018/10/03/einsteins-letter-belittling-god-religion-will-be-auctioned-million-or-more/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.07c49731797b Seems directly contradictory to dan's( ) claim...but i'm sure he can easily post a link backing his good word up. -
Transference objects and mental mechanisms
cuchulain replied to Pete's topic in Freethought, Secularism, No Religion
I don't know for every religious person, but many i have met and spoken with seem to use religion to abdicate responsibility in one way or another. They say, 'god has a plan'. If true, who could possibly go against such a beings will? Or the devil made me do it...i mean, really? Very few religious people I've spoken to accept their actions as truly theirs. This isnt exclusive to christians, btw, or even monotheists. -
The Exodus. How real was it?

In thorough self examination and knowledge I have come to a point where right is easily decided and acted upon...which of course means it's time to reexamine it allπ -

The Exodus. How real was it?
cuchulain replied to Jonathan H. B. Lobl's topic in Monotheist Theologies & Scriptures
I saw a snake in the grass the other day. It could not seem to stop wriggling and absolutely could not move straight, but always in zigs and zags. It was in it's nature I suppose. -

Show where I denied the descendants...or admit you weren't being honest. Anyone else can read exactly what was written and see the truth. Your honesty shows in your responses to Johnathan after agreeing in another topic to not respond to atheists in such a manner... it's why he waves at your answers. He has more integrity in my opinion. -

A map said so...it must be true. Not made up at all by people who wanted the land.
