Anger can lead to states of great suffereing. The Beloved One in the Srimad Bhagavad Gita calls it one of the three doors that leads to a "self-destructive hell" (Srimad Bhagavad Gita 16:21). Hermano Luis Moriviví Hermitage

I use AUM (OM) a lot, At the beginning of prayers. At the end of prayers I like to say "OM, Shantih, Shantih, Shantih, OM" (OM Peace, Peace, Peace, OM!). Saying Mantras is at the heart of my spiritual practice. Even when I am just sitting and doing nothing I will repeat the Mantra Hong Sau: inhaling I will mentally chant Hong, and exhaling I will mentally chant Sau. Some turn this Mantra around: inhaling they will mentally chant Sau, and exhaling they will chant Hong. It does not matter which way you do it just don't force your breathing. This mantra centers your mind and brings serenity. "Hong Sau" simply means "I am." Have fun! Hermano Luis Moriviví Hermitage

Every day I pray for the end of all wars. I am an idealist; in my heart there are no good or bad guys... there are only people killing each other. I have seen too many wars in my lifetime. I would like to see my grandson grow up in a world of peace, but I do not think that it will be possible. I guess that I will continue to pray. Hermano Luis

What If God Was One Of Us?

The way I understand God, God does not need a face or a name. I understand god as the Cosmic Milieu or Ocean of Life. Hermano Luis -
Limitless Spiritual Beings

Isn't that wonderful? We are One, says the ULC. "When one realizes the Self, in whom all life is one, changeless, nameless, formless, then one fears no more" (Taittiriya Upanshad,7.1). Hermano Luis Moriviví Hermitage -
Today the Hindu world celebrates Diwali (aka Dipawali). It is the Festival of Lights. It is a day dedicated to God as Mother Lakshmi. I pray that all my sisters, brothers, and friends in the ULC will receive the blessing of Mother Lakshmi in the forms of Freedom, Understanding, Love, Compassion, and Joy. OM Peace Amen! Thank you! I can appreciate the words of this teacher. They remind me of a teaching found in the Srimad Bhagavad Gita where the author (Vyasa Deva) uses Bhagavan Krishna as the voice of the Supreme: "Those who worship other Gods with faith and dvotion also worship me, Arjuna, even if they do not observe the usual forms. I am the object of all worship, its Enjoyer and Lord" (Srimad Bhagavat Gita 9:23-24). Hermano Luis Moriviví Hermitage

Even though I have never heard the story, it has a Gnostic touch. I would even say that it sounds oriental. Hermano Luis

Three aspects of Divine Mother are celebrated: Durga Ma, Lakshmi, and Saraswati. They represent Will Power, Wealth, and Knowledge. In India they are celebrated with great pomp and of course a lot of food. In every Hindu celelebration there is always going to be food. I am not into big celebrations; I celebrate in the simplicity of silent contemplation. I will light a candle for Mother, for the Presiding Deity of the Moriviví Hermitage is Mother Kali. During this time I celebrate the blessing of Motherhood. Traditionally no gifts are given, but I see no reason why we should not. Hermano Luis

I would take the following books: 1. The Srimad Bhagavad Gita in Spanish; 2. A Roman Catholic Bible in Spanish; 3. The Dhammapada of Buddha; 4. "The Gnostic Bible" Edited by Willis Barnston & Marvin Meyer 5. The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa. I hope it is a tropical island. Hermano Luis Moriviví Hermitage -

Music plays an important part in my life. I enjoy every kind of music: popular, classical, western, and eastern music. In my religious tradition -- the Sanatana Veda Dharma -- the Vedas are chanted. The Bhagavad Gita means the "Song of God." Music is at the heart of the Vedic religions. Singing the Names of the Divine is a very common spiritual practice. Nevertheless, I do not limit myself to just Indian religious music. I have always enjoyed the Christina Gregorian chants and Western choral music. "Amazing Grace" is my favorite Christian hymn. My religious services are always combined with music. There are hymns to Divine Mother which have great meaning and beauty. When I am in a retreat, periods of silence are combined with chanting of hymns or the Names of the Beloved One. But when inner silence is reached, music is put aside. There is great spiritual joy in music, but in inner silence we find Ever-New-Joy. Hermano Luis Moriviví Hermitage
