  1. You have the general right idea. One thing though, its usually considered an insult to call a male witch Warlock. Warlock means oathbreaker. He would simply be called a witch or male witch.
  2. Just a quick search on Amazon will show you many books with the title Book of Shadows. Some are useful knowledge, some are not. They are not considered "sacred" like the christian bible is. They are simply information. Each Wiccan will usually keep a personal BOS, either in written or electronic form, often both. I personally have a written BOS, though most of my rituals are written on loose paper and burned at the end of the ritual, so my BOS is actually pretty damn thin. lol I have a picture of it on my blog if you want to see. http://salemwitchchild.blogspot.com/2012/08/our-bos-isis.html
  3. I do believe souls choose when they rebirth, and what they do during their time as spirits. Usually they either look over their loved ones or become a guide. However I've never read the Wiccan Bible, and I don't believe in a "winterland". Depends on the type of Wiccan. For me, I follow the Wiccan rede. But as an eclectic, that's about all the dogma I need or want in my life.
  4. As long as both parties are respectful, they exist alongside each other just fine. We actually share more beliefs than we disagree. I don't believe any religion that encourages love, peace acceptance and good morals as false. Sort of. I think we all go to the same place in the end, no matter what you call that "place". Think of it as many roads to the same town. No. The road you take doesn't matter as long as it's the one you want to be on and believe in.
  5. I noticed your story is similar too. In mine though we were a group. Not sure if we were family or "family" as in coven. But we didn't jump. We just walked into the sea. I know mine was a death vision though. We had no intentions of surviving. We didn't feel there was a way to escape but didn't want to be burned to death either. Btw, I have a huge aversion to water. Never learned to swim and don't like water that goes above my head. I also can't stand to eat fish. They taste like dirty sea water. lol
  6. I've had two visions and a dream. One was a reoccurring dream a long time ago. I see me as a child dancing in a circular room. I think I may have been somewhere in Maine in the 1700's. I remember looking out the windows in the circular room and seeing the ocean. Not sure why I thought Maine but that was my impression. I've had a vision of my death by drowning. I was a witch then too and instead of allowing the village to persecute my sisters and I, we chose death in the sea. I also believe I've been with my husband before. I don't know much about that life other than I was with him though. I've tried to help him with his mental and spiritual struggles before. Not sure if I succeeded.
  7. So you want to eat beans and ass? Go right ahead. I don't care as long as you didn't kill the ass to get the meat. Oh, and don't invite me for dinner. Btw, Cannibalism is such an interesting topic. I usually try to catch the history channel or watch Taboo when it's the subject. I forget their name, but I know there's one tribe who has practiced cannibalism for many generations and now have a disease because of it. So whoever said eating human flesh isn't healthy, I agree. ETA: The disease name is Kuru. Don't watch the video if you don't want to see a naked woman shaking limbs.
  8. I don't post often because it's all been discussed before. I don't think there are a lot of Pagans on the forum. When their are they don't stay long because of the attitude of some members. I know if I don't feel welcome then certainly new members won't. I guess I check in once in awhile for sentamental value.
  9. What I meant by that is that she didn't attend ritual with me. She was and is exposed to the little things throughout daily life that is spiritual in nature. You can teach morals without indoctrinating the child. I consider it MY DUTY to allow my child the choice.
  10. I have raised my daughter in a secular way so that when she's old enough she can research and choose for herself. Howe I've come to somewhat regret my choice. She is 10 now and does like to learn some about Wicca. but I think she's more confused than anything and not quite sure if she wants to learn. Perhaps she's too young still. But I definitely believe religion is a choice and children shouldn't be "indoctrinated" at a very young age. I just wish I'd have exposed her to my beliefs more instead of keeping her seperate from it. Of course with Wyatt I have a new beginning! Joella, you haven't "met" Wyatt yet. I had him last May. So how do you include a young toddler in your beliefs? Well for me, when I'm setting up an altar I allow him to touch some items, play with things (within reason) and just generally add his own energy to my altar. A special toy of his can be included in the altar as well. With Sierra she loves to set up the altar and fetch what I need plus of course add her own things. And I've begun teaching her how to write a ritual. She wrote a portion of the last ritual we did. How do you involve your kids?
  11. Same thing I do every year. take the kiddos tot. Then do a private samhain ritual at home.
  12. In a pot and not sure what kind of soil. Just the same soil that the other plant came in. I water it just about every day. But I just put water in my hands and sprinkle a little bit on it. Haven't fertilized it. No animals in the house. Its sitting in the kitchen window. Gets more light in the afternoon/evening.
  13. The parsley plant is on its last leg. I have no idea what is wrong. But I assume that since two plants have died at my hand, its my fault. The plant isn't completely dead yet. But it is looking droopy. What can I do?
  14. That sounds like what went wrong with my first parsley plant then. It was fine for a couple days though it looked a little droopy. The next day the stalks got really thin and even more droopy. Then started changing colors and died.
  15. To be honest what she probably would have come up with is most likely already available elsewhere.
  16. lol. I am definitely NOT a green witch. But I am doing better. I got seeds and they are sprouting alright. So far so good. Though we did have one mishap with it falling out of the window sill. Doesn't seem to have hurt it though.
  17. Evidently they take more skill than I have because I killed my parsely plant within 1 week of owning it.
  18. Songster If your talking about your comments on Dragon Love, I didn't get offended. I think you did however. But if you can't read and comment politely (note I'm not asking you to only praise. Just be polite about your comments) then I thank you for abstaining. Doesn't matter how long you've been here. Your comments are still welcome. And thanks.
  19. So I did a little free writing today and came up with the beginning of this story. I'm not sure where my mind wants to take it. It just flowed out of me so here it is in its raw form. I've not made any revisions other than a spellcheck. I am NOT looking for you to rip it apart. I am looking for honest (and polite) opinions on my form of writing and the plot. Particularly as it applies to writing in 1st person. I normally write in 3rd person so this is a change for me. NOTE: This story is not to make light of any religion or belittle, demean or otherwise offend your view of God. The reason I write is to create fictional worlds where my imagination is the only limit. If you can't take the story as it is, its probably not best to read. You can read the story on my blog (Link below). Leave a msg here or on the blog. Either one is fine. Creation
  20. Well that would be a hard one. Only thing you can do is try to talk with them. But I would want to know why now? What's changed? I hope YOU'Ve changed and not just your living situation. Because "having a loving husband who puts up with your sorrow" isn't a good enough reason. As I see it, you must earn the right to be back in their life. Its going to hurt you to say, but you are going to have to face the possibility that they just won't want you in their lives either. My father left when I was 3 yrs old. Many years later he tried to come back into my life. But it was the same old thing. He'd pop in to say hi and then leave again. He couldn't be in my life with any sort of regularity, so I wanted no part of it. He ended up dieing alone in a strange place. The first step starts with you. Make contact, let them know your open to reconciliation. Take it one step at a time. If they talk with the other children you do have contact with that would make it easier. Perhaps organize a family reunion.
  21. I'd love to be able to have my own little mini farm with chickens one day. I also agree its wonderful to have access to free range chickens and eggs. Do you also raise chickens for meat?
  22. Nice to see you too hon. More pics from todays bday cake.
