I love gardening. I grow 3 types of tomatoes (Cherry, Roma, and "Better Boy"), beans, peas, carrots, corn, zucchini, and cukes in my vegi garden in the back yard, and Narcissi, Gladiola, and Roses in the front. I recommend "double-digging" and "raised-beds" for vegetable gardens. I mix the compost I've processed from last years crops into the top 8" of soil and use mulch to discourage weeds and keep the soil moist. (Please forgive me for taking the opportunity to boast, but I harvested a tomato 2 years ago that was 4 1/2" tall, 6 3/4" in diameter, and weighed in (on a digital scale) at 1.78 pounds!)

Winter doesn't want to give it up yet. We had snow Tuesday and a 1/4 inch of frost on my windshield this morning. The leaves and flowers on those trees and bushes that had already started budding and blooming are whithering and turning brown. My only hope for something good to come out of this last storm is that maybe the morrels will be coaxed into popping up again!

If you're still hungry after a full meal..... It might be Sensimilia.

Not sure if what I have to say is relevant to the discussion, but I've been reading this topic since the first post, and though I'm not quite sure that I understand the principle, it reminds me of one of the lines of a lyric I wrote back in the '90s. From my song, "Following the Footprints" "Undisciplined disciples pray, but ignore the prophet's shout. He pleads they'll heed the warning signs, but indifference drowns him out, 'Cause when the blinding light of Truth shines through, It always casts a shadow of a doubt." Like I said... I don't know whether it has any relevance here, but this topic keeps the line running through my mind.

I first saw this short a couple years ago. I was reminded of it today, and thought the members of this forum would enjoy it also. http://www.veoh.com/watch/v868434dFDZBn6K?h1=west+bank+story

Why I Became Ordained By The Ulc
Songster replied to murphzlaw1's topic in * Welcome - ULC Minister's Introduction Junction *
Welcome! Good luck in your ministry! -
Thank you, Rev. R. I wasn't sure where to place the topic, and figured "General Interest" was a safe bet. (Another example of why I don't gamble.)

There are many that believe that it's the physical world that is the illusion, and there are far too many documented cases of "near-death" and "life-after-death" experiences for me to discount this man's account as a fabrication.

I stumbled across this earlier today and got chill-bumps listening to him recount his experience.

Kirby Quotes
Songster replied to Dorian Gray's topic in * Welcome - ULC Minister's Introduction Junction *
Interesting...... From what I've learned from viewing the 60 Minutes interview.... Mr. Hensley wasn't interested in establishing a true religious movement, nor was he promoting human spirituality or universal brotherhood. Instead, he was a self-confessed con-artist interested only in destroying the existing tax-exempt status of accepted religious institutions by providing ordinations to anyone interested in exploiting the US tax system. Hmmmmmm.... Very interesting. -
Mine said I had until Jan.8, 2046 (89 1/2 yrs). My wife's said "Your time has run out."

Hope you're up and about asap (but don't push it, give yourself time to heal). God bless.

Please expand on your explanation of these "fire apparatus". I am aware that most battery operated machines posses internal auto-transfer devices that insure that components are never exposed to both sources of power. I have never seen one "eject" the main power source.
-
What will they think of next? I've seen locking receptacles, but I've yet to see these "ejectors". I'd say, if they are intended for home usage, they are designed for added safety and perform a function (maybe over-current or arc fault?) that could save both lives and property.

Instruments......do You Own Or Play Any?
Songster replied to Cornelius's topic in Cultural Arts Archive
My God blessed me with the ability to play music on every instrument I've ever picked up. I started on the piano (5 years of classical instruction), then started playing the guitar, bass, drums, harmonica, tenor sax, banjo, mandolin, and Jews harp (all self taught). I think that every kid should be given an instrument before the age of 6, given professional instruction, and encouraged to practice and master the techniques necessary to play proficiently. Music is such a big part of my life, that ALL gifts that I give to my kids and grandkids are either instruments or sheet music. -

Nice handiwork, Rev. Earl!

IMO, Man's ability to manipulate his surroundings to manufacture structures suitable to withstand hostile environments establishes the supremacy of "adapt to the environment" over "change the environment".

Your opinion only. Which sect, when, and where?

It doesn't seem equitable to me either, but that's another subject. Just because those homes are empty doesn't mean we should import and support all the people needed to fill them. I have no problem with legal immigration of qualified individuals, and see it as a win/win situation for both us and them. Illegal entrants, however, have assumed a privilege to which they own no right, with many (if not most) fraudulently taking advantage of our public education and assistance programs, and instead of contributing to the economy of their host country, parasitically siphoning 60% of their illicitly earned income back to their country of origen.

What a crock of carp crap! If this makes it to court, I hope the judge fines the "footballer" for the court costs, orders him to pay the church's lawyers, and the church counter sues for slander and defamation.

Bardstown!?!?! I know the area. I lived for a time in Shelbyville with a Union brother from the area. It's beautiful country there! Hope your wife likes her gift. (Question: Did you really buy it for her to use, or is this like the new grill my wife got for her B-day?)
