  7. I just saw that a few minutes ago in today's local paper....prayers and thoughts to Andre and the ULC headquarters.
  8. Give me a "R"...Give me an "O"...Give me a "B"...Give me an "O"........give me a yaaaay Robocop!!! ...or wait, was that "R"...A"...? huh, oh oops that's the RaboBank, isn't it? Eh, PD's, banks... crooks in a lot of 'em, but you're ever so correct Hex, certainly not all. Ya know, I realize we live in "Smallville", California (pop. 25k) but most of our cops are really great people and 'protect and serve' equally, regardless who needs their assistance. Yes, there are two/three with notorious reputations that gang members around here despise, but most of the rest of us are willing to sorta "look over the other way" when certain things get out of hand. I do not wish to deny everyone, criminals included, their Right to fair council and trial. However, on occasion the rules need to be bent a bit in order to get Justice and every now and then a little extra vim and vigor needs to be put into an arrest. The "Bulldogs", "Negros Manos" and "Crips"...all gangs, have members they have financed through college and law school so they have active, bar passed attorneys, in gang colors showing up at bail hearings and during criminal trials. If it's okay for the criminals to actively seek better representation, then I'm all for law enforcement having to extend a little stiffer arm in meting out justice...in some cases that merit it. Unfortunately, the "article/advertisement" for tasers used in this linked example is going to slant things a bit and uses very old news to qualify its product. In the other case cited was it the Seattle cops or witnesses pointing out the wrong individual that did the "wrong" here? The other thing that is not reported about Mr. Lee was prior police contacts, gang affiliation and prior record of being difficult to apprehend and/or control (if any). It is very common around here for gang members to deliberately act up and not comply with officers as to create a situation of "brutality" to focus legit arrests elsewhere. All I know is that long ago in my past, when being in (hand)cuffs was more frequent than having cuffs on suit pants, like now, it all depended 100% on MY attitude as to how I was treated. The only time I was ever shown even the least bit of discourtesy was a night I'd rather forget. Shall we just say that "Herr Jaeger" was most certainly the meister that night!?! Every story has multiple facets to it and never forget there are 3 sides to every coin! Since my wild and crazy days, when pulled over for perceived traffic violations or civil contact with cops for reported issues or questioned concerning other's calls, I have always been treated (except for once, on Maui - long story and not cops fault) with the utmost respect and dignified responses from law enforcement....even being a long haired, jean wearin', tattooed out individual that I am. Blessings of Peace,

  12. 1) Typically, a medium is some who will use a variety of methods, (tarot, crystal ball, candles etc) to seek entities/info and are the atypical "Madame Sophia" and the "Amazing Doctor Levay" types. A channeler, like Edgar Cayce say, is someone who is used "by the other side" to give focused massages to a particular person. A medium reaches out from this side to "over there", a channeler takes what is sent from "over there" and applies it to here. 2) Proof? Hmm, that's a controversy that has been going on for centuries. The difference is those little twinges of "I know that. I don't know how I know what I know, but I know!" It is an indisputable "truth" to the person's psyche, which differs greatly in feeling to the babbling of the sub/supra conscious. It would be very difficult to explain to someone who has not experienced the difference. I hope that helped a bit Nesty. As you are very familiar with controversial information, I'm sure you know where I'm coming from in trying to help explain the various aspects. A great place for more info is Lily Dale. Blessings of Peace,
  13. Aye, me Lady Guidance...with the fellas havin' the trees to chop down, dragons to slay, defense of the community to draw one's sword and ax against, you're so correct! This system has worked ever so well in the majority of Pagan household for millennium. When a woman has a man she can be secure with and proud of, and the man visa versa, the example it sets for the children is awesome. Belenos, I thank you too for your insights, exactly what I was trying to promote was an open discussion of the variances on the basic premises of Neo-paganism. I agree with your evaluation of protection through whatever means available and to that end I too support the use of majik and spells. I thank everyone for their contributions here! Blessings of Peace,

  16. I suppose with 30 days left, whatever was important to the individual would come into play. I know people who cling to family like the last life raft of a sunk ship and others who aggressively tear through whatever attachments they have with anyone to forcefully be alone. Myself, I would have to agree with making people laugh, after all, it is supposedly the "Best Medicine". The thought of having Terry Fador or Jeff Dunham at my funeral, comes to mind. Blessings of Peace,

  18. I still smoke cigarettes/(cigars- outside or garage only) and unfortunately for Kay and me, quitting has been disastrous. We have cut way down, but that final step just seems impossible, however we're on to a new approach and have high hopes. When I have anyone (excluding another smoker) in my car, I do not smoke. Never did with kids in the car at any time, even when it was still "acceptable", but I also know few other parents ever thought that way. We have both been rather cautious and courteous smokers all our lives and really are offended when other smokers make light of the situation. We either go elsewhere or have two fans going to keep the smoke away from our furry kids too. We're going to do the outside smoking only trick come spring, which is really only days away so we need to wrap our heads around that now too. What a person does to themselves is one thing, that is a choice, but inflicting it on others is out of line, in my "Big Book of Personal and Social Etiquette"! I am firmly against seat-belt and helmet laws for adults, but fully and wholly support car seat and bicycle helmet laws for kids. Blessings of Peace,

  24. Wow, a lot has been said in all directions here Grateful. I genuinely feel bad for your situation as we went through the same thing when we first moved in here. The only advice I would take from the above are the non-aggressive, non-fight fire with fire! I know, you'd think the crazy ol' Viking would be all over battle axes and pooch-ka-bobs, but that has never worked very well....unless you intend on the Hundred Year War. What worked here was simply sitting outside in a lawn chair for a few days to "meet the neighbors". Obviously that hasn't worked with you and ignoring it seems to have taken the thrill out of his declaration of poo-wars. At my, well ex's, house where my daughter grew up, it took the photo documentation and certified letter routine to recoup the $700 to replant the areas of my brand new lawn the neighbor's dog caused. Back in those days, they simply opened the door and let "Bridget", their "show, full size poodle" go where she wanted. They were shocked when myself and several other neighbors all sued him at the same time (different cases, same docket) in small claims. Why dogs refuse to "go" in their own yard is baffling, but I suppose they are indeed territorial animals. Through our working with two of the local animal shelters here I've downloaded a couple of spiffy programs concerning animal laws (California). All I need is your zip code and I can get you your local ordinances, if ya need help with that. Blessings of Peace,
