  2. A natural method to keep coyotes and bobcats at bay...that works by the way.... is BIGGER predator urine in the areas around the perimeter "free range". Again, referring to my years up in Willow Creek, we found that bear pee kept pretty much everything else away from our pets and chicken coop. I was even able to capture some hilarious pictures of a brown bear "having his way" with one of the shrubs that was sprayed. You might want to let your Sis know about... http://www.predatorpee.com/ ...Grateful. A good spray bottle (adjusts from stream to spray) is only a couple of bucks as you want to spot spray around the area and stream spray in other areas. Each package comes with full instructions and while some is rather pricey one package lasted me all year. Hope that helps and wow, I had no idea that Fawzo's cousin was doing chicken watch patrols! (neighbor's llama!) Fawz...ya might want to warn him about carrying a weapon while on patrol...we know from recent headlines where that can go!! Blessings and thanks for sharing Grateful, you sound like you're really enjoying your new home and ability to visit your sis!
  3. Interesting....the above pic of Hong Kong Harbor got me to dig through an old box of pics and yep...dang near same angle/view with the Red/White Star Ferry docks to left and nighttime sky line....except the 4-5 tall buildings in center are not there nor tall one to right of pic....but then my pics are from 1974! This was an amazing port o' call! Blessings of Peace, oops almost forgot...and who could forget Lodi!! CCR
  4. Glad to see ya found the forum and Welcome to a year's worth of passing interest Happy! Glad you finally made it! It sounds like you are guilty of nothing more than being a friend to our avian friends, the same way other folks are friends of the feline and canine families. Kay and I could probably be living back on our island paradise were not for the expenses of caring for the numerous stray felines we have adopted, passed through our yard or been given medical attention! Roughly 20% of our annual income goes "Straight to Strays"...which we considered authoring and titling a book, but in today's world...well a title like that could certainly confuse the reader base!?! While we still collect our data and chronicle our adventures with the many stray felines around our neighborhood, the prospects of publishing a book that could be confused with heterosexual's turning into homeless vagabonds have dwindled greatly! So anyway, would you consider sharing a few stories about your bird friends? What got you into birds specifically? You said feeders; seed or nectar? Do you have any good ideas how to keep squirrels from robbing the feeders? What, if any, preventive measures do you take to prevent the haphazard feline attack on our feathered friends while eating? Any and all tips would make for good reading I'm sure. Blessings of Peace,

  25. "I want to "kill" so and so for...." is a highly misused, and abused term these days. People should really think before using it.
