depending on how you look at it, it may be cheaper or more expensive in the long run. the bulbs are usually rated for 3000 hours but are really expensive to replace (runing anywhere from 250-ish to a grand)

not to mention the need for a large flat wall with nothing on it that is painted white (if you dont use a screen)

I use a projector at work, but at end of year we tend to bring in the dvd player or Xbox/playstation...fun time

im just cheap, for the price of seeing a movie at the theater (the tix, food, sitter etc) i can buy the DVD, tons of snacks, and dont have to get a sitter.
