  1. Yep! Almost all the Mods (if not all of them) are Mods, Von Noble, my wife and likely many more are saints of the ULC. Pretty much pay the fee, write a reason, and if ULC HQ approves, they get sainted.
  2. http://data.opi.state.mt.us/bills/mca_toc/40_1.htm There is the laws right from the source. An intresting note is montana is the only state that allows a double proxy wedding, and there are some groups that make a profit doing those.
  3. Legal portions of the wedding in the UK no. sermons, baptisms, etc yes.
  4. It was poor judgement on your part to wear your collar to your employer. Your wear of it, could land your company in some hot water if someone of faith different then what is assocated with the wear of the collar decided to sue. Frivilous? yes. Is any good company going to take a chance on it? no! The bottom line is that you are employed as a supervisor not a a member of the clergy. They expect you to dress as a supervisor and not a member of the clergy. More simply put, do not wear the "uniform" of one job to another job as it is disrespectful to both.
  5. Have you considered registering as a trademark? http://www.uspto.gov/smallbusiness/trademarks/
  6. Organizing your congregation with the HQ is not mandatory, but I suggest it as way to officially affiliate your congregation with the ULC.
  7. the HQ can provide a letter of good standing.
  8. Well Rep Stan Saylor is trying to change that, and now with 3-4 conflicting cases in different counties it makes it legally dubious in any country without a current decision or until the PA statutes are addressed.
  9. sadly that doesn't apply to the whole state.
  10. anyone interested in the complaints they are here, I haven't found the final out comes of the cases and they aren't on the ACLU PA's website yet.
  11. I am not sure the Jesuit case will have alot of bearing on the ULC in as much as it is hard to argue that the RCC is a "regularly established church" and as an Order have been in existance since 1534.
  12. Well York County says it's not, Bucks/Montgomery says it is. So it's a bit more up in the air then ever, unless it goes up to a state level court, or that State Statutes are changed to more clearly define what they mean by "regularly established church" which several State Reps have tried to do, by eliminating the the ULC in a manner very much like the overturned Utah statute.
  13. There have been atleast 3 cases sponsored by the ACLU that have been brought. One was found favorable for the ULC in Bucks County, but only legally applies to Bucks County. I haven't seen the results of the other two yet.
  14. I prefer my battles in the court room, not in possibly getting someone's marriage declared invalid. That's just me.
  15. I would avoid solemnizing marriages in PA until the legal standing of the ULC is cleared up.
  16. Which is why the DoD mandated it for HCP with direct patient contact.
  17. Words that don't help people to want to help you. I wish you best of luck finding someone else to sign for you.
  18. Since you do not attend a church (a being a specific church) and assuming you are ordained here by the ULC they would be hard pressed to not accept you signing as your own clergy as under 29 C.F.R. PART 1605, the USSC has upheld United States v. Seeger and Welsh v. United States which created the standard of "The fact that no religious group espouses such beliefs or the fact that the religious group to which the individual professes to belong may not accept such belief will not determine whether the belief is a religious belief of the employee or prospective employee."
  19. Since you say civilians, Is this a VA/Military Hospital? If so, it is likely because of this: http://www.vaccines.mil/documents/1169HCPF...licy_08_005.pdf You still haven't answered the question above as to who your normal clergy is.
  20. Well for your kids, its actually pretty simple. http://www.vaclib.org/pdf/va.pdf that's it. For you, that can be a bit sticky, is vacination a condition of employment (like medical fields)? More importantly, who is your normal clergy? You attend a regular service on sundays? If so that can make your claim weak. If you do not attend another service, and are ordianed by the ULC you are in effect your own clergy (the parish priest doesn't go to another parish to go to church). For safety infomation take a look at these two links to start: http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pubs/vis/default.htm and http://www.cdc.gov/vaccinesafety/
  21. Can you articulate why vaccination (remember it has to be all or none) is against your religious beliefs citing relevant religious text and dogma supporting your claim? Why as Ordained Clergy can you not sign your own?
  22. He is the easy way to stay out of trouble. If the counseling is anything but 100% religious based (example: biblical basis of dealing with adultery) your likely not allowed to do it without being licensed by the state (usually requiring atleast a masters degree).
  23. He is providing a service that costs him money out of his pocket. He is free to set whatever requires he wishes. If he wants to limit it to someone that has shown a specific level of activity or commitment that is his right as the provider.
