Your enemies will be astonished." Civility is important; If only to negotiate a peace treaty. For me, to respect someone, I need to feel at least neutral towards them. There are some people who should not receive respect. People who make plain that they are racists, or otherwise support persecution. Or the people who support their evil efforts.
