I would wager it would matter most if the memory of the place/sent/person is a positive or negative memory.

Mike, I have never seen a problem with it in the past. I have adopted a few dogs (people moving where they can't take the dog mostly) over the years and thier previous owner can and visited with no issue. In fact the dog was "happy" to see them and didnt misbehave at all after.

You gonna visit?

You take in the doggie and hurt it...there will be a hit squad after you...just sayin...

Sky is right, find something to replace the hand/mouth fetish that goes with smoking. A bottle of water works great. I still take "smoke" break to just go outside and decompress a bit.

I quite over 10 years ago without the patches and gum and programs. Secret to my success was realizing I was allergic to the damn things. Kate still smokes, but doesnt smoke much during the winter. Being on base and all you have to smoke outside even in your house so that might be a good motivator by making your house and car "smoke free zones". Best of luck.

Again, you use the word “Consultant” without really answer the question of what you will be consulting on. Take for instance me, I have done free lance IT consultant work. I have specific skill sets I bring to the table and are frequently required by organizations with small or no IT departments of their own. I am able articulate those skills in both a technical and layman’s terminology so that both the potential client and I can establish common expectations and achievable goals. Without being able clearly state what you bring to the table, especially if you want to go with something in the religious or paranormal range, you are doing both your potential client and yourself a disservice. To use the old phrase caveat emptor comes to mind. If you can’t tell me what your selling, I am not going to buy whatever it is you are selling.
-
What kind of jobs are you thinking about? There really isnt a "market" for "consultant" Ministers, atleast in the most traditional sense.

Just check with HQ in Modesto to ensure they have you in thier records.

Your right to a degree. However, they can get involved if say your "relative" is a registered sex offender and is not allowed to be within X number of feet of places like schools, day cares, playgrounds and churches. In this case, you can be forced to choose between your relative and your church.

see following links for case law in NC. http://www.ulcseminary.org/forum/uploads/NCvLynch.pdf http://www.ulcseminary.org/forum/uploads/fultonvvickery.pdf http://www.ulcseminary.org/forum/uploads/LynchvULC.pdf Bottom line: ULC marriages prior to July 3, 1981 are validated. (NC § 51-1.1.) Marriages solemnized after July 3, 1981 are questionable in legality due to the above case law.

Really Weird Question - But Now I'M Curious...

I remember reading somewhere is my stacks of ULC materials, that the HQ has revoked ordinations before for the reasons previously mentioned as well as if you used your ordination to commit a crime. It's important to note, that most (but not all) "mainstream" chirstian faiths ordain for life. -
Can The Minister Be Sued If The Marriage Turns Bad
Dorian Gray replied to pope_cahbet's topic in Legal Questions
County Clerks do not determine what is and isnt legal, they just repeat the law verbatim as written and ensure forms are filed and filled out correctly. They are a clerk not a legal professional unless granted additional powers by the governing legislative bodies. -

Remember, AG's opinions are not enforcable laws or even a law. It's just an opinion. -

Can The Minister Be Sued If The Marriage Turns Bad
Dorian Gray replied to pope_cahbet's topic in Legal Questions
there are several states that have disolved marriages based on the person solemnizing the marriage (a ULC minister) not having the legal authority to do so. PA, NC, and VA off the top of my head. -
what they said

Can The Minister Be Sued If The Marriage Turns Bad
Dorian Gray replied to pope_cahbet's topic in Legal Questions
This is generally speaking, provided that your legality to solemnize marriages is not coming in to questions, the only way for a couple to sue you for a failed marriage is if you ever promised, implied or otherwise indicated that due to your involvement (like pre-martial counseling for instance) would ensure a divorce free marriage. -
