  1. It must be tough to beat yourself up wondering if you are prepared for every eventuality where you might have to have an alternative to lethal force in order to defend your life or the life of others from lethal force. Maybe you live in a bunker and never venture out. I do not understand how a person could possibly be that prepared. Maybe you have no intention of any defense.
  2. I certainly believe you think so but no one will know until it is done.
  3. Unless we have already killed a person and can relate what caused us to do that, then no one could say for sure what would cause them to kill until the time came to do the killing.
  4. And a liberal is someone who is so afraid of everything, not just big bad men with guns, that they need mommy to protect them from anything bad that happens to them so they don't have to be responsible for anything anytime ever. And then there are those who are so afraid of everything all the time that they need mommy to protect them from everything and everyone all the time because they cannot grow up enough to take responsibility for themselves. The reason they are afraid of responsible citizens with guns is because they have no concept of responsibility so they cannot believe anyone else can be responsible either.
  5. I somehow can not wrap my head around how a liberal can possibly be a libertarian. The two are poles apart. Ron Paul is a libertarian. He has never, ever been accused of being liberal. He is so conservative that the tea party thinks he is too conservative.
  6. So, "Give me liberty or give me death," is just a tag line to you?
  7. It does not appear to be any lower than a bikini bottom and we know that is acceptable.
  8. Being relatively new here, I have read the Hot Seat Q&A of most of the active members here. I have found it very informative and an interesting way to get to know more about those that I interact with here. I am disappointed that there is so little interest. The last person in the Hot Seat barely stuck around long enough to answer any questions at all. I had considered volunteering for the Hot Seat, but with such little interest I wonder what's the point.
  9. Could be. I don't spend a lot of time dwelling on it.
  10. For the same reasons I had mourned who I had been.
  11. Governments grow in order to survive. Our government, with help from the media, has made a massive effort to train us all to think of ourselves as victims that need Uncle Sugar to protect us. The program is further enhanced by giving away money to all the government created victims. The more people who perceive themselves as needy victims, the greater and larger the government becomes. Very few wish to take responsibility for themselves regardless of their claims of independence.
  12. I did not so much mourn the birth of my first child as I did the knowledge that my life would never be the same again. Gone would be the carefree days of little or no responsibility. It was time to get serious with life, settle down and be a parent. I mourned who I had been before my child's birth and I was sad for who I was to become.
  13. They both taste like chicken to me. Oops! Maybe I should have quoted old nick, instead.
  14. And if that is what you got from reading this topic and ALL of Dan56's posts, then you, Elphaba, are missing the point entirely. I, being perhaps a lesser person than Dan56, would quite happily kill who ever I had to in order to protect my family but that is NOT what Dan56 suggested at all.
  15. Not for a little money but for survival. I the Abrahamic God created us he also instilled the will to live and the drive to survive. Protecting and providing for the survival of your family is conducive to passing on your DNA. This fine bunch of ministers are biological animals as well.
  16. They are working very hard to prove that God exists. It will not be the God of your understanding.
  17. Ok, you could see that there was an obvious mistake to my question and you chose to answer it one way. Now I would like you to answer it the other. Just what would you do or not do for a million dollars? Of course, you certainly have the right and privilege to just blow it off and ignore it.
  18. I am sorry but BrDevon speaks about investing the million dollars, not what he would do or not do to get the million dollars in the first place.
  19. But what would you do to get for that million dollars?
  20. I will be happy to answer that as soon as I get a serious offer of a million dollars to do anything. Who can possibly say what they would or wouldn't do. We can speculate, knowing that we will probably never be offered the choice.
  21. You know, I could not play basketball, either.
  22. It is better for me to TRY to focus on all the GREAT and POSITIVE and LIGHT aspects of human nature as well. Trouble is I have had to give up watching most national and world news and really limit my intake of local news in order to shut out the constant crap that the media feeds us to try to keep us afraid of our shadows with stories of doom and gloom and rape and molestation and murder and mayhem. The most popular shows on cable TV are murder and rape programs that disguise themselves as informing us of how the criminals were caught. Even Oprah's network OWN has gotten into the act because it brings in the ratings. Our fore bearers were not dolts. In the past people didn't share the bad things in their lives with every one as they do today. Families then kept their lives much more private than they do now. Most anyone who has had any terrible thing happen to them will jump all over the opportunity to appear on the Today show or most any talk show to share all the lurid details. Even many perpetrators of these awful crimes will appear on some TV show or another and the public just eats it up.
