  1. My viewpoint is that without an "I" there is no fear, only unity and beingness. For the concept of "I" there must be an "other" and this dualistic perspective is the birthing ground for fear and all the other forms of negativity. At some level there may be multiple "I's" which are fuly cognizant of their interpendence and unity within the One, but within these fleshly sensual vehicles we are experiencing that is not a level of awareness that is going to reach the vulgar masses any time soon. If you have any doubts about this, let me assure you that living a few months in the center of any major U.S. city for apporximately 6 months would quickly vanguish and destroy any hope that your most magnificent request which started this thread would come to fruition within our lifetimes. 100 enlightened monkies who seek after self actualizztion are going to do little to influence the billions of monkies who are influenced by what I like to call the EFP (eat-fornicate-play) syndrome. I am personally of the belief that this world is specifically designed for the major dramas that take place all around us. Everything from the microscopoic to the macroscopic is evidence that conflict between two forces will continue to exist as long as all of creation exists. It is just the way of the physical World. Our technologies may make us think we have achieved great advances but has our humanity really advanced any from that of our great ape ancestors? I think if one looks deeply and honestly our humanity hasn't changed at all.
  2. That is a most excellent thought, but I just don't ever see it happening in the dualistic world in which we live. For that to happen I think God would have to completely erase all of our minds and start from scratch again. The thought of "I" would have to disappear imho

  10. What of those who worship the Divine through animal and sometimes human sacrifice, or wont suffer a witch or blue eyed demon to live?
  11. Here ia an OT reference to the Veil: The church tastes the joy of Christ's love 2 I sleep, but my heart waketh: it is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night. 3 I have put off my coat; how shall I put it on? I have washed my feet; how shall I defile them? 4 My beloved put in his hand by the hole of the door, and my bowels were moved for him. 5 I rose up to open to my beloved; and my hands dropped with myrrh, and my fingers with sweet smelling myrrh, upon the handles of the lock. 6 I opened to my beloved; but my beloved had withdrawn himself, and was gone: my soul failed when he spake: I sought him, but I could not find him; I called him, but he gave me no answer. 7 The watchmen that went about the city found me, they smote me, they wounded me; the keepers of the walls took away my veil from me. 8 I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, if ye find my beloved, that ye tell him, that I am sick of love.Song 5:2-8 (KJV)
  12. I think I'm mistaken, but the moral I get from Soph's story is "that one should eat their friends if they get soiled" Now we see why his parents left his native planet and brought him here to earth.
  13. Great photo and story friend! That hug is precious. I liked that Jimmy Stewart movie with Harvey, wish it would come on again. Who knows maybe that rabbit on Easter Sunday did have some bits of Harvey in them. Have you ever wondered where all the tiny bits that make up Harvey have migrated to by now.
  14. My mind untamed like raging elephant, no fetters strong enough to hold. Silence only can soothe the noisy fearful beast. It counts its breaths a brief respite, the scent of honeysuckles fills its dreams. A garden grows of light and love my heart rests peaceful through the dawn. Ok thats my attempt, but I'm not even sure what we are attempting to do.
  15. Peace and Blessings for you and yours as well and may your celebration bring you great Joy. Would you mind sharing some of the high points of this celebration. Such as is there a special food prepared or interesting ritual involved? Are gifts given?
  16. I really like that thought RabbiO, I can almost hear its awakening call. I would like to wish everyone a happy and blessed Holiday as well!!
  17. http://video.pbs.org...ogram/979359664 I just finished watching this on-line video at www.pbs.org from the Nova series. I found it totally fascinating the realtionship between nature and fractals. The next few days I'm going to let it run through my head to see if it changes my spiritual model of reality. The relationship to trees and forests is just blowing my mind away!!!
  18. I agree with this Biblical Scripture on the subject: For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man. Mark 7:21-23 (KJV) External conditions at times can bend a person to their limits, but IMHO as long as that person is in touch with their true selves they will not snap or break. I guess that is why it is such good advice : Preach the word be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine 2 Tim 4:2 (KJV) A lot easier to say than do, this I know. We are human and slip at times, but hopefully we learn from the mistakes and don't repeat them again. The only Devil or Demon that leads me to do anything is my own selfish, ego.
  19. Have a great one Ed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
  20. That last one sounds interesting I have to find a copy of that and read it. Yes it is a tropical island.
  21. Considering the light from the nearest stars we see takes at least 10 years to get here, the actual position of the stars have moved on many years ago. Maybe the horoscopes we read are for people 10 years ago. No wonder mine very rarely even remotely comes true.
  22. Thats great congratulations! A fellow Marylander too.
