  1. It would help a lot, if you could write in English. You want to find a book with a retirement plan?
  2. For the most part, yes. Still, there are many varieties of Christian -- and individual understanding varies. I'm not comfortable with the Christian concept. I would not wish to insult RevBogovac or Rev Cali, for instance, by lumping them in with Dan. For that matter, there was a time when you self described as a "Liberal Christian". It's a tricky thing. We do wish to be fair to the sane Christians. I have the same problem. It's so easy for me to make sweeping statements, because I don't want to talk like a legal document. Sometimes, it is unfair.
  3. I think this is what you're looking for. Click on "Forums" and scroll down til you come to it. Welcome to the board. Enjoy your visits. Earth/Nature-Based & Indigenous Religions Open-minded dialogue and shares dedicated to polytheistic or pantheistic religions: Aboriginal, Animism, Asatru, Druidism, Goddess Movement, Hellenism, Hoodoo, Native American, Paganism, Odinism, Santeria, Shamanism, Shintoism, Vodun, Yoruba, Wicca.
  4. Of course. It's the usual Fundamentalist fog. I did say Fundamentalist. Not Christian. There is no point in asking questions about physics or Cosmology; because this is not a science board. There is no point in asking questions about evolution; because this is not a science board. Since Atheism is about non-belief in God -- and nothing else -- questions about science have no place here. Except of course, in general conversation. Dan does enjoy making simple things complicated. It's what he does. That and getting you angry. Don't worry. I get it.
  5. When Dan can't answer something, he deflects. He changes the subject under discussion. At that, such a silly question. What is my origin? My parents had sex. How does anybody get here?
  6. 1. Do your ears hear what your mouth is saying? We have no evidence, because that's how God wants it? 2. Yes. Objective evidence means that we get to make an intelligent judgement -- instead of working with nothing but opinion. 3. What a strange thing to say. It is evidence that makes choice possible. With "concrete evidence" we could make a good choice. 4. My origin and purpose? A different topic and a deflection. Please. Focus. 5. Science is a process for finding real answers -- so that we have facts instead of opinion. The process is cumulative. 6. "In the absence of facts". Then you agree with me? We have no facts about God. None at all. 7. You just got through telling me, that we have no facts about God, because that is how God wants it. That negates the Bible. The Bible -- by your insistence -- must also be fact free. Because that's how God wants it. You keep telling me that this is the case. Without any facts about God to work with --it becomes a waste of time, even to speculate about God's existence. We are reduced to opinion versus opinion. The real question becomes -- "Who cares?" What possible difference does it make, whether or not God exists; in a compete absence of facts?
  7. True. No objective evidence at all. None. Faith is not evidence. Faith is not facts. Faith is opinion. Not Creation. Existence. Existence itself, does not in any way, support your bias.
  8. 1. This is true. It's belief unsupported by evidence. 2. The Bible is it's own best evidence? If you say so. 3. Please. Not "old wives tales". Propaganda and pious fraud. 4. What a silly thing to say. You just got through stating that there is no evidence at all. All the evidence in the world? I'm waiting. Cuchulain is also waiting. Show us something. Something that is not a faith statement. 5. I can not speak for Cuchulain. I would not rent scuba gear. I would check for rocks. The rocks would have to be near the surface. No scuba gear needed. 6. You have that all backward. I'm not looking for a reason to doubt. I have yet to find anything, to make me take any of this, seriously. 7. There is no evidence. You keep saying so. Trust me. "No evidence" does not suffice. 8. "All Scripture is inspired by God." If you say so. God huffed and he puffed and he blew....... Never mind. 9. "If" Such a sad word. 10. Yes. You have chosen to believe. Without evidence, as you keep telling me.
  9. This only demonstrates that God is not good. At least, not a force for goodness. In fairness, God could still exist. While there is no good reason, to suppose that God exists, it is still possible. Not that it actually matters.
  10. Alas, wanting immortality -- even needing immortality with great faith -- does not make it so. Reality is not forged by want or need. Only what is. In the end, reality prevails.
  11. Did God succeed? Has all wickedness been destroyed? No. Another failure for God, the All Powerful. And very wicked.
  12. Of course, the Old Testament should be questioned. Where do you want to begin? Adam and Eve? The Great Flood? The Tower of Babel? The Exodus? Which part can be taken seriously? Of course people wrote the Bible. All of it. Who or what else? They were not, what we now call historians. They were propagandists, with a wide variety of agenda. What abounds is pious fraud. There is such a thing as Biblical scholarship. Of course there were assertions; and adjustments. The same God, now being credited with Putting Trump in his job -- is the God being credited, with being the force behind all of Human history. It's a silly assertion now. Nothing has changed. It's always been a silly assertion.
  13. Authenticated? By whom? If is such a sad word. If this, then that. If means that it might not be so.
  14. That's an amusing analogy. Analogies can be turned on their ear. Take the Atheist, who says, there is no park. Or the Anti-theist, who says, that parks aren't natural. Or the Agnostic, who doesn't know if there is a park. Or the Apatheist, who doesn't care whether or not the park exists. Or the Polytheist, who visits many small parks, instead of the big park. An analogy can be created, or twisted, to prove any point.
  15. Also, all the puppies and kittens drowned. Evil puppies and kittens? During World War II, the Nazi belt buckles proclaimed, God is with us. Perhaps they were right. Such an evil God would favor the Nazi cause.
  16. You're right. I don't approve. When did you become a Satanist? All you care about is power? Welcome to the Dark Side.
  17. It was God who sent the great flood, that destroyed the world. Not Humanity. Destroying the world with a great flood, is not having "it all under control". The story describes an out of control psychopath, with mood swings and a low tolerance for disappointment.
  18. 1. That's your idea of direct? Unknown authors, writing long after the alleged events, things that are implausible? Unless of course, you think that zombies, walking around Jerusalem is plausible. 2. Sad to say, I wouldn't know how to reveal the incomprehensible. What's even more sad is that God -- the All Powerful -- also could not manage to do so. Which means that God is not All Powerful. So God isn't God.
  19. So, your response to why God needs prophets to put out a message -- is God also needs angels. And scribes. Lots and lots of scribes. God can make a whole Universe without assistance; but putting out a message takes lots and lots of helpers. Forty thousand flavors of Christianity, means that even Christians can't agree on the message. Considering the vast numbers of people reading the Koran -- as the Word -- I'd say that God's message is getting lost in the shuffle. Even with all that help -- God really stinks at this. I didn't even mention the other religions. It's almost as though God wasn't involved.
  20. This is what happens when faith replaces reason. Tinkerbell is dying. If you want her to get better -- believe real hard and clap your hands. See that? The power of Clap. Go ahead and laugh. It's better than crying. It's impossible to argue with faith. The alternative to laughing is and and 😕
