This conversation is going off the deep end, because we don't know what we are talking about. Spirit -- what ever that is -- may or may not exist. That is what we know. That we don't know. Unless someone actually has hard evidence? Objective, verifiable facts? In the absence of facts, all we have is speculation and opinion.

It is possible to be alive without being conscious. No humor intended. This is what happens during surgery, under anaesthesia.

Establishing something as fact removes the necessity of belief. Yes. Yes it does. At least we can agree on this. belief is a choice, a choice you've chosen not to exercise. You like quoting from works of fiction. Here's one from Peter Pan. "If you believe and clap your hands, Tinkerbell will live" Yes. Belief. The power of Clap. The secular way is a dead-end period that answers nothing. That answers nothing? I know where the Sun goes at night. The people who wrote Genesis didn't know that. Not caring is having no curiosity, its having no sense of wonderment, it is surrendering to hopelessness. I see that you are still confused on this one basic point. It is only God that I don't care about. You do love to muddy the waters.

The threat that isn't a threat. I've been preached at all my life. You don't get to redefine my experience. Or history. Or reality. You do love changing the subject. Before you start foaming about objective morality -- people wrote the books.

You can actually say that, with a straight face? Without laughing? Norse mythology is full of much better stories, with better plot and more interesting, believable characters. When you learn to write an English sentence, then you can give me crap about communication classes. I won't care, but at least you can pretend to be able to write.

My problem? Since you asked, my problem is pious oafs, making reality statements of fact. Based on nothing more than faith. Which is nothing more than opinion, unsupported by fact. If you really insist on spreading manure, I suggest you take up gardening.
