  1. Welcome Greg I was and Independent Insurance agent for 15 years! The ULC bookstore has some great books with Wedding ceremonies that cover all types of belief and non belief systems. I let the couple choose what parts they want and will use even a line from one and a line from another to Tayler it just for them. Occasionally I will write it my self if they are not finding anything they like. Best of Luck!
  2. problems

Violence is never acceptable in the name of peace and any religion that justifies this is just a religion, man made not inspired by the Divine. Too man y times, like LObl says they turn the page to find a different quote. You can find any quote to justify your stance in your mind, but when your mind is one with the Universal God Mind, you know peace and you will radiate out peace. Too many belief systems in this world put war to be something to be proud of. Well sorry I am not buying it! War what is it good for? (I need more coffee, sorry LOL)

    Hee hee hee!
  4. Recycle bin of life

Dear Von Noble; I love your response to the door people, LOL, recycle is good! We have a sign on our door that says "A Joyous Officiant" we do weddings at the house and elopements. What amazes me is how many people still knock and must not understand the term "Officiant" at least that is the benefit of the doubt I'm giving them . The J.W.s hold there annual convention in our town in Jan. so we get a lot of door knockers around that time, the sign helps but some from some local Christian church's also will just leave a pamphlet which does get recycled. I like your out look and appreciate the laugh.

  7. Encourgement

A good attitude is paramount for ULC ministers - Here is a little something to start your day! The Best Recipe to Start Your Day 1 cup of dreams mixed with 1 dash of reading, then add 1 large proportion of physical activity with 3 ounces of enthusiastic desire, sprinkled with 1 large dose of fresh air inhaled at sunrise Knead everything above well, and then add 1 heaping spoon of joy, happiness and song 1 heaping spoonful of Faith, Hope, Charity and Love Pour it all into a glass of pure water. Then top everything off with a smile and drink! (used with permission from the book "When Angels Dream, book of the north) Love and Light to all!
  8. Welcome SherrylC. I try to do daily prayers for all ULC ministers and we at glad you are here! I completed my Masters in Ministry this year and would be glad to help with any questions you might have. Here is something I came across recently and its for all ULC people! (used with permission from the book "When Angels Dream, book of the north)
  9. Thanks everyone your the best and know how to raise someone's spirits!
  10. You have me thinking, a lot, ministry for women is not very accepted, even now. I officiate but once in while we get a request for my Son, they want a man to officiate. I minister to friends and minster to neighbors by example and helping when I can. I would love to do more volunteering but I take care of my husband who can cook for him self and needs help getting up and down, so I'm pretty much at home. When we have a wedding my Son goes with me and we don't stay so we can get back home. Its hard I am proud to be a ULC ordained but now that I think about it a minister not in the normal sense LOL.
  11. Lao Tzu saying

I so enjoyed reading all your posts. Love the Tao !
  12. Hello

    Hello! Welcome to the forum!
  13. Very interesting questions. I am a full time minister 24/7. I would perform any ministry duty called up to perform 24/7. I am not seasonal as I do this all year. I consider myself active as I do marriages all year. I have only done one memoral service but Im open to any service that ministers do. I dont work in a mainstrem organized church but would if asked and being a women not many of them would ask. The doctrine of "do that which is right" which I believe is the heart and soul of ULC is forever at the for front of everything I do and dont do. If I were so inclined it would make for a great Tattoo with the ULC logo above it!
  14. Sons Wedding

That is a true blessing you were able to officiate your Sons wedding. Many blessing to you!
  15. Light and Darkness

This is a most interesting verse. I checked out some other variations of it on Biblegateway.com. I tried to attached a file that shows some of the variations from other translations but I don't have the way to convert it so go there and check is out. Some of the translations they have I have never heard of. Since we are all a part of God and he is in us, we are in him, we can create light or we can create darkness. We have the yin and yang within us. The freewill to do either. Darkness is the absence of all light. This represents the picture of not knowing. “keep them in the dark” . This can also represent un enlightenment. This word indicates we have come from darkness and into light. How do we create light? Turn on a switch and a light bulb comes on. Turn on our mind to endless possibilities and the light bulb is above our head! New truths, new thoughts and light is within us. These opinions are mine alone. trie
