There is no requirement that ANYONE be a minister. You can form the corporation, congregation, obtain 501c, and everything in the complete absence of a minister. Then, if it suits you, go forth and hire a minister. Or one or more of you can be a minister. Too many cooks in the kitchen....well, you know the rest.

I'm sure he can too. But this is not only for his protection, it is for the protection of the patients he comes in contact. As a healthcare worker it is not unreasonable to strongly consider it for the safety of those you care for.

Basically, it keeps me from having to delete accounts of folks that don't stick around, or just want a ULC branded email account without having to be a member. You have to remain an active member of the forum to have and keep this email account. -
Creating A New Congregation
mdtaylor replied to Rev. Matt's topic in * Welcome - ULC Minister's Introduction Junction *
I went through the process of incorporating a church in New Jersey, using the online form. If I had paid the fee I would now be the proud owner of ULC Chruch of Me... The business purpose is "6110 - Religous" and the SIC code (or NAICS Association code) is 813110 - Religous Organizations. I don't know how much it would have required me to pay, however, and the only reference I could find is that the Secretary of State sets their own fees, and that is $75 for all Non-Profit corporations. However, under Title 16 as you stated, I saw reference to a fee of $5 on an off-site PDF file. I hope you are right and you can get it filed for a reduced amount. BUT.... the direction this topic is taking I would strongly recommend that you employee the services of a professional. Maybe that site I linked to can help. -
Creating A New Congregation
mdtaylor replied to Rev. Matt's topic in * Welcome - ULC Minister's Introduction Junction *
It could be that you visited the wrong department. Did you go to the Department of State? It could also be that you were at a STATE office with FEDERAL laws in hand.... In any event, to form a corporation in New Jersey, go here. You can fill out the form online here and never even go to Trenton again. (I know....you really want to go back, don't you?) -
If you're willing to answer then so shall I. Opaque.

That's funny...I don't see anyone in this hot seat.

Mine's a work of art too, although as it turns out it is an abstract.

The ULC.net page of all states. Please note that the forum Administrators and Moderators do not have access to any of the information found on the link provided here. No guarantees are made regarding the accuracy of information found anywhere on any link or on this forum in general. In states where registration may be required a letter of good standing may be necessary. The Law Library at Cornell University provides a page to the actual states statutes. Some of the links may be broken. If you find one please let me know so I can provide a good link. I have been horribly wrong and guilty before. I had seen posts that I considered blatantly violated the rules, deleted it without explanation thinking the poster knew the err of his ways and that no explanation would be necessary, only to discover that I had totally misread the post. Well, my mind was in a gutter somewhere at the time I read it, and after reading it again a day later I could then see what the poster actually meant. Talk about egg on my face... you couldn't see my eyes for the yokes.... Nothing can change the fact that I am human and make more than my share of mistakes. I can't help to believe that most of the other mods and admins are also human.

Just because you are not included in the discussion does not mean it is not being discussed. It is. I should remind everyone that criticizing the mod team is sort of like self destruction. Bro. Kevin does not have the time to manage the forum himself and that is why he has asked Murph to do so. Murph, the admins and mods are all volunteers and as such could easily decide that hearing the criticism is now outweighing the satisfaction of giving their time to the forum. If that were to happen then the forum would cease to exist. Simply follow the few rules and we can all have productive discussions. Choose not to and the entire forum suffers. I now return you to your fantasy world.

Should We Be Allowed To Intentionally Harm Ourselves?
mdtaylor replied to Kimmy's topic in Philosophy & Theory
I'm gonna go way out on a limb here with... No, with exceptions. No, with exceptions. Yes. The exceptions cannot be defined except with respect to lawfulness. And, I owe no one an explanation as to my answers. -

Should the second line read: "Hear the first breaths of life." or is it correct? -

Is it anything like "Sea Hunt?"

And with this the thread comes to a screeching 72 hour pause.... This, for the record, is a heads up that this is the kind of statement that we referred to when we said "baiting."

I thought you once told us that blindly following.....nevermind..... Suffice it to say that I do not always believe everything I read on the internet. To me, evolution is a theory based on a collection of less than all the facts. One fact will never be discovered I imagine. How life began in the first place.

Mexico Not an official site but pretty good. Be aware that Mexico has "Districts" much like states in the US and laws may vary from district to district.

And I can say this...with that statement any shred of respect that I was beginning to have for you just went out the door. But I'm sure that doesn't matter.....
