Prayers, Blessings And Devotions For Pagan Kids

Recommended Posts

I have experienced similar things. I am strongly influenced by buddhism in my beliefs. Thus, I meditate, usually loudly, with Oh me pe me hum. But I have experienced that others are annoyed or disturbed by this, so I am bound to do it more or less silently.

Apologies if this does not post properly, first time trying with this tablet.

Older children can be rebellious, so maybe not prayer (even Wiccan) for prayer time. But non-faith affirmation mantras may suffice.

I recommend these to adults, but should work for adolescents.

"I am happy, and healthy, and wealthy. (Explain non-material wealth, if necessary.) *signifier phrase* I feel joy, well-ness, and bounty."

Or for times of stress (like before a test)

"I am calm, and serene, and balanced. *signifier* I am centered and able, in body and mind."

One incantation I think well worth teaching is the Litany against Fear from Dune...

I must not fear.

Fear is the mind-killer.

Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.

I will face my fear.

I will permit it to pass over me and through me.

And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.

Only I will remain.
