Well, they could start their own tradition. Everyone comes as their favorite ghost or goblin. Make it a costume party. I know a lot of Rennies who do that. Flower

Rev.Torres, I know they are not wican. Neither am I. I gave you an example of what my ancesters did along time ago. It's a really old Pagan tradition. It's just kind of neat. I've seen it done at Handfastings too. And some of the couples wre not wiccan. Doesn't matter. Flower

Have them jump over a broomstick. It's a traditional wedding event. If I remember right. The happy couple faces north, (That's for solid ground) The Priest or Priestess places a broom in front of them. They jump over it facing north, if they wish they can turn and face south and jump over again. (South is passion and fire) Or someone can present them with a besom. It's a small broom wrapped in ribbon with a wish attached to the handle. Everyone can add wishes if they want. kind of like a wish box, only on a broom. Bright Blessings to the happy couple on All Hallows Eve!!! Flower

Star Hawk also has some good books on basic practice of magic. You can use whatever you wish to use in your rituals. I don't always use the same items for all reasons. Depends on what I am calling, or why. There are no hard and fast rules as to wether you use Wizard magic or wiccan. It really all boils down to your individual purpose in what you are casting. As for sacred space. That can be a simple chair in a corner of the living room. A quiet place in the garden, or a place that you enjoy going to out side. My personal space is at a friend's house. Only because I am not allowed to practice my craft at my home. But to create space is simple. You can use holy water to purify it, or insense. Whatever you wish. place things that have meaning to you in it. an alter or shrine. It is all up to what you like. Flower

Wiccan Ulc Ministers

Issac, I'm done here on this thread. I wish you luck in your endever. I hope it does not end in tears for you or others who wish to follow you. Change is comming, perhaps not in the way you wish it to. The world has a funny way of making up it's own mind. The people on this thread who do not agree with your idea of a world vision are trying to teach you about the past, so you don't make the same mistakes twice. It's now up to you. Flower -
Wiccan Ulc Ministers
Call me Flower replied to Isaac_Kramer's topic in Earth/Nature-Based & Indigenous Religions
There may never be lines of communication here. The reason for this is most of the practitioners of the olde ways, older than wicca. Have heard these thoughts and ideas before. They have always ended in tear shed for both sides. A brief history lesson. At one time it is believed we had councels and were organized. But that changed with the advent of the Christian way of life. Then we went underground. Each group became a circle of no more than 13. This was for safty. Your problem is not a lack of communication. Or misunderstandings. It is deeper than that. We have been burned before literally and figuritvly by those claiming to want to help. It really has nothing to do with your idea. It has everything to do with keeping our freewill and proctecting ourselves. There are many sides to every coin. I just gave one of them. Flower -

Isaac and Dave, I did not misunderstand the vision or point of view here. I simply stated that mankind has freewill. You asked a question and I answered it. Flower -

Mankind was given freewill. I personally believe it is ment to be that way. Differnt "flavors" of the Craft and wicca are what make an exciting horse race. Lumping us all together into one pile is taking away freewill. Peace will come when it is time. And so too will change. My two cents worth. Flower -

Natureboy, If you get the oppertunity to go, you should. Not for anyone else, but for yourself. Don't let anyone tell you how to live your life. It is yours to live. I have spent my entire life having to deal with others telling my children they would not come to see them because of me. This is their choice. You do what is right for you. And as others have said, I am here for you if you need me. And I will be sending you strength. Bright blessings, ShadowDancer
