Do you give a set amount (or percentage) to charity each year?

In 1784, Congress decreed that the fourth Friday of each October would be federally recognized as Forum Administrator Depreciation Day. Benjamin Franklin, who lobbied for it's recognition for over a decade said of the achievement - "It is an act of great prudence to put these jerks in their places every now and then. Having a day set aside wherein every man woman and child of this great young nation can call their local admin a 'wiener' can only serve to increase the common good and ensure the procurement of domestic tranquility. And did I mention that I discovered electricity?"

Down With Societal Classification!

So, just as an example, one could not be both a proud Canadian and a proud man? Or a proud Canadian and a proud parent? Or a proud Canadian and a proud homeowner? -
Maybe. Needs are purpose oriented. If something is needed, it is needed for some purpose. This creates a difficulty in knowing whether or not some4thing is needed, because while it may not be needed for one thing, it may be needed for something else. You point out that Native American teachers did not need text to teach, but look how much of what they once taught is now lost because of social upheaval.... Had they known long ago what the future would hold for their peoples, they may have made different decisions about what was needed....

I like that there are a lot of people here who, when we disagree on issues they consider important, are willing to try to show me where they think I got it wrong, rather than just tell me I am wrong, maybe cast a few aspersions about my character, and eventually demand that the subject be dropped. I have found that to be a fairly rare thing...

Hmmm. I usually ask "why" as a first step to figuring out how to either make sure that something doesn't happen again, or to make sure that something does happen again.I don't like answering questions about my sex life. Just can't shake that Puritan heritage, I guess....

When people ask who you live with, do you usually put your pets on the list?

It's an open question. We can all take turns being in hot seat by answering it. My answer is "utilitarian".
