I started down that path several times, but never made it to the altar.

He was absolutely irate about the new movies ignoring the old books. A guy from the 501st was using the ATM behind him, and rolled his eyes at me in sympathy while leaving. When the grown man in the stormtrooper uniform thinks you take Star Wars too seriously... When you consider the remarkable feat that there was meticulous care taken in the construction of the stories and their spin-offs so as to avoid any conflicting history or details, yes, some readers do take the work seriously out of respect for all the serious work that went in there. That's about as serious as my son and I took it. The fact that Lucas allowed authors to write stories in his made up universe with the stipulation that they adhere to each others story line was something remarkable to me. But not that remarkable... Always leave the toilet seat down. She cares. Do it. 2. Bring home the flowers, before she gets mad at you. Otherwise, you feel romantic one night, and she wants to know -- What did you do!? 3. Take out the trash. Women hate taking out the trash. Don't ask why. It's a man's job. Just do it. In other matters, I take my cue from the lions. Killing is women's work. Yeah, sure. But there's a point where people are just upsetting themselves over stuff that has no real impact on their life. It is one thing to care, and another to obsess, you know? That does not mean they take it seriously. Possibly. Just as possible they believe in the tenets of the religion as well -- maybe not so much in "the Flying Spaghetti Monster" itself, but in the values and the message the community gives. Not the war between the Light Side and the Dark Side of the Force. I was speaking more of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster in that quote -- but look at the tenets of Jediism, too:https://web.archive.org/web/20160320113855/https://www.templeofthejediorder.org/doctrine-of-the-order They're not so much about the fictional/figurative war of the light and dark side from the movies, but more about the code that the Jedi from the movies ascribe to -- with some other additions to them, too, as I'm sure there's some individualistic license. This is what I was referring to. --Rev. Samuel Universal Life Church of Michigan
