  1. I am doing very much better and I really, really appreciate all of the concern and hope that you all expressed. I came home from the hospital on the morning of Dec. 25th. I went back on the evening of the 27th though because I couldn't think straight at all. I couldn't remember anything and my vocabulary was completely mixed up. I believe it was because of the swelling of my brain but I'm not really sure (and neither were the doctors which is kind of scary). I am not having anywhere near as much pain and the little bit of pain that I am experiencing is of a completely different nature. So I feel that the surgery was a success. I am just a little bit frustrated about the memory issues and the problems communicating. Anyway, thank you all again so much and I wish you all a very Happy New Year! Love, Decline
  2. My surgery on November 11th was MVD. On December 23rd I had a straight sub-temporal craniotomy with fenestration of an arachnoid cyst.
  3. Thank you all so much. I look forward to letting you all know that the operation was a total success! Once again thanks!
  4. Never been a big Steven King fan, nothing against him, just wasn't really the genre I was into. Having said that, I just finished book 6 of "The Dark Tower" series. I am now an unashamed fan.
  5. Hello Friends, I am going to be having brain surgery on December 23rd. I would just like to ask you all to send me any positive wishes, prayers or whatever good energy you can spare. I had my first surgery on November 11th and unfortunately, it did not fix the Trigeminal Neuralgia I have been struggling with. I thank you all very much and wish you all a very happy holiday season.
  6. She looked to me like she was really feeling the music. Pretty impressive any way you slice it.
  7. That was truly incredible! Thanks so much for sharing. I love that song and she nails it!
  8. I enjoy the exchange of ideas and the opinions on both religious and mundane topics. Oh and two of the best friends I have ever found are on the forum and it is a nice way to stay in touch with them.
  9. Nice list! For myself... Epitaph by King Crimson, Always With Me Always With You by Joe Satriani (live version not the studio version with the silly drum machine clapping), Last Morning by Dr. Hook and Europa by Santana.
  10. Splitting my reading time between George R.R. Martin's "A Game of Thrones" and Paul Kriwaczek's "In Search of Zarathustra".
  11. Been playing rpg's for 27 years and read a wide variety of stuff... never heard of the author or the title.
  12. I wouldn't mind giving immortality a try. I would want to know what "brand" of immortality we are talking about though. Immortal with the choice to opt out (violently if necessary) if I got bored in a couple thousand years would be nice. Nice lyrics btw... I loved that movie and thought that Queen did a really great soundtrack for it.
  13. The topic titled "Green Literature" started me on this train of thought. I visit used bookstores and have for years. It never really occurred to me that the writers were not getting any kind of royalties for the thousands of books I have bought over the years. Anyone have any thoughts on this subject?
  14. Good luck and I wish you a speedy recovery.
  15. I agree completely! American Gods was a great read.
  16. Just about everything. Not a huge fan of country or hip hop but there are a few songs here and there in any genre that I enjoy.
  17. Just finished book five of "The Incarnations of Immortality" series by Piers Anthony. Really great stuff! Squeezed in "Starship Troopers" by Heinlen a couple of days ago also.
  18. I just started reading "Magister Ludi" by Herman Hesse. "Siddhartha" and "Beneath the Wheel" by Hesse were both awesome reads as well.
  19. I read "Unicorn Variations" last summer, very enjoyable. I haven't read "Creatures of Light and Darkness" yet. I will check it out though and thanks for the tip. I have been reading William Gibson and Harry Turtledove recently. Pretty good stuff.
  20. I just started "This Immortal" by Roger Zelazny. I am thrilled to have found another one of his books that I hadn't read yet. I would definitely reccomend any of his stuff.
  21. War Men do not win wars. They stand and fight and they die. Sitting asses win.
  22. Love My face becomes warm Inhaling your sweet perfume. And then I vomit.
  23. Poor Devil by Decline The bottomless pit has become my new abode No chance of parole
  24. I have enjoyed most of what I have read by Frank Herbert, Larry Niven, Stephen Donaldson, Roger Zelazny, Isaac Asimov, J.R.R. Tolkien, Piers Anthony, Michael Moorcock, Ann McCaffery, Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, Poul Anderson, Ray Bradbury, the list could go on and on really. I enjoyed the "Gor" books by Norman also...granted I enjoyed reading "Hollywood Wives" around that same time. (I think I was around 13) So I am sure you can tell I have very high standards when it comes to literature.
  25. I just finished reading -Wicked "The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West" by Gregory Maguire. Very entertaining. I will probably try out another one of his books. If anyone here is familiar with his work and has a suggestion on which one I should read next, I would appreciate the advice.
