  1. Christianity basically destroyed most other documentation, if there was any, about Jesus. Gnostic Gospels evaded them when they devastated us. Other than the bible, Jesus is never mentioned in history so all you are reading is second and third hand information. Most of it are lies. What you can study you should study with Gnostic Christian glasses on and not Christian glasses. Those are out of focus when it comes to morality. Like the no-divorce and sacrifice/substitutionary atonement policy policies that the Christian creed you must embrace to be a Christian. Regards DL
  2. Sure. You cannot drop your scapegoat savior. The one who condemned you in the first place. Tell us, what did you do to gain your condemnation? As to distancing yourself from religions, I do not blame you as they are evil and full of liars. That would include all who fly the cross and follow the bibles immoral teachings. Regards DL
  3. True that it is a large cult but if it was a moral one, it would have grown from good works and deeds and not by the sword and Inquisitions. Enjoy knowing that Christianity had to murder a lot of people to get to the size it is. Again you show that morals are not your forte but just belonging to a big tribe is all you care about. Like all priests, the amount of lying that must be done by Christians show how poor of a religion it is. Regards DL
  4. So you think an abusive husband can love. Ok. If atonement of sin must be done in the flesh, then you destroy the need for a hellnd show the immorality of your god who punishes us infinitely for finite offences. Regardless of all this. If you want to chat with me do it with moral issues and not your stupid faith based garbage. Best to put me on ignore since you refuse to look at the immorality of your cult. Regards DL
  5. While ignoring that a loving god would forgive us outright without teaching us how immoral he is by punishing the innocent instead of the guilty. You gave a good quote there but it does not apply to a god, God cannot die. We are not friends to the immoral Jesus you follow. No one should befriend those who think it just to punish the innocent instead of the guilty or keep women in marriages that hold no love. Regards DL
  6. Embracing divinity is to idol worship it. Gnostic Christians do not want to be idol worshipers and that is why we are perpetual seekers. Nothing is divine that has not been named so by a person. To call something or accept something as divine is make holy what a person has told you is divine. People know nothing of divinity but you should know that when you accept divinity then you become an idol worshiper of that ideal, whatever it is. Regards DL
  7. If you do not believe in Christ, then you should not call yourself a Christian. There are more than one Jesus shown in scriptures. Jesus the Christ of the bible is anything but a Universalist. The mystical Jesus who sneaks out of the bible is the one you are seeking. If you are a Universalist then get out of Christianity and into the more intelligent and moral Gnostic Christianity. Regards DL
  8. Nice to hear that you have not accepted Yahweh's and Jesus' poor morals the way most Christians do. Especially the no-divorce and substitutionary atonement policies. Only a Satan would come up with such rules. Moral people will reject those demiurge policies as well as Yahweh and Jesus. 9. It surely did not fail for Christianity when it was made the state religion and went out to kill all those who would not convert. Regards DL
  10. You have accepted that you are condemned and need saving and that is why your morals are garbage. You believe in a lie and have let that lie make you an immoral person who will rely on an immoral substitutionary atonement even while knowing that it is proper and just to punish the guilty and not the innocent. You are knowingly doing evil and don't care. Regards DL
  11. If we would stop respecting immoral religions, like Christianity and Islam, they would die on their own since they do not deserve respect. That is predicated on the notion that humans value their morality more than their fellowship to an immoral and imaginary god. If our friend Dan is an example, morality takes a back seat to his personal salvation. Regards DL
  12. God can be described as the best rules and laws to live life by. If you are not a god then you are not your own person and have yet to write the laws of god in your heart. Regards DL
  13. Yes, as we are Universalists. Who would you deny a god to? Does, the rain, as scriptures say, not fall on all of us? http://gnosis.org/library/ephip.htm Regards DL
  14. Perhaps your desire for a supernatural god is what is pushing you to follow a god whose morals are less than exemplary. Are your morals not the most important part of your religion? Regards DL
  15. Yes. I am a Gnostic Christian and our myths refers to the few that Christianity did not burn when they decimated us and disallowed freedom of thought and belief. Timothy Frek speaks of those days in what I will put below of how I understand Gnostic teachings and methods. I am a Gnostic Christian, Our beliefs are not what Christianity says they are. We lost the God wars and they distorted our belief system. The lies have been known since the findings of our scriptures and myths at Nag Hammadi. http://www.gnosis.org/naghamm/nhl.html Gnostic Christianity is a teaching system from Jesus but not the one the church ever dares to teach. It frees us from religion and that is of course not what religions want. They never want the student to graduate as they might lose revenue and people. Here is a bit of history as well as a nutshell version of how that freedom is gained. Gnostic Christians are perpetual seekers after God. God here I define as the best laws and rules to live life with. We believe that those laws and rules, as Jesus said, are found in our minds/hearts. I use the following to try to illustrate this notion. A bit of history and then a mindset and method to do what I promote. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oR02ciandvg&feature=BFa&list=PLCBF574D The thinking shown below is the Gnostic Christian’s goal as taught by Jesus but know that any belief can be internalized to activate your higher mind. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=alRNbesfXXw&feature=player_embedded This method and mind set is how you become I am and brethren to Jesus, in the esoteric sense. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdSVl_HOo8Y When you can name your God, I am, and mean yourself, you will begin to know the only God you will ever find. Becoming a God is to become more fully human and a brethren to Jesus. Regards DL
  16. Our myth, like the Christian myth, are just imaginary. Ours was created to show how immoral Yahweh, as imagine by the first Christians, really was. Christianity should not have ever reversed the Jewish view of Eden as our elevation to that of a fall. The reality we see in our version of Jesus, an archetypal good man myth, deals with reality and not fantasy even as we use religious fantasy terms like heaven. I agree with you that most do not recognize what Jesus of the bible taught because the church hierarchy refuse to show the more mystical and esoteric Jesus. Jesus did teach that god and heaven was within us and here and now, but the church never quotes what they should to teach that. Matthew 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Jesus, in a real sense, was anti-church and anti-god while being pro-inner spirituality. The artists of the day knew Jesus' message better than the church did. If you look up the Vatican's Michelangelo painting of creation, you will see god sitting on the background of the right hemisphere of the brain. If you also consider that the largest sculpture in the Vatican collection is that of our pineal gland, the doorway to our inner eye and right hemisphere, what I have put become quite clear and truthful. "I believe in the One, Original Creator God completely filled with Love and Light, who is the Father of Jesus." It Jesus was the sacrifice that goes with being the son of god, then the creator you believe in is a full blown **. Demiurge that is. Regards DL
  17. I took a peek at the forum you linked to and did not see much in the way of arguments on what they teach. They do not seem to do as the bible suggests. 1 Thessalonians 5:21 Test all things; hold fast what is good. That may be why they still give Christianity a respect that it does not deserve. Regards DL
  18. Yes they are as they cannot justify their dogma from a moral position. That is why they mostly hide or try to move the conversation to the reality of a god that they cannot prove. Just Jesus' and Yahweh's no divorce and sacrifice policies are proof positive of the immorality of the Christian creed. If that was not true, then Christianity would have grown itself by good deeds instead of by the sword and Inquisitions. Regards DL
  19. I do not preach that there is no god. I preach as Jesus did that you are the only real god you can ever know. I preach that we should all step up to, as Jesus said, pick up our crosses and follow him. Instead, most Christians accept the immoral position of trying to profit from the human sacrifice of Jesus. I often have Christians run from debating the morality of substitutionary atonement. Care to engage? If so, reply to my argument. ----------------------------------- Human sacrifice is evil and God demanding one and accepting one is evil. Those trying to profit from that evil are evil. Do just a bit of thinking and you will agree. Imagine you have two children. One of your children does something wrong – say it curses, or throws a temper tantrum, or something like that. In fact, say it does this on a regular basis, and you continually forgive your child, but it never seems to change. Now suppose one day you’ve had enough, you need to do something different. You still wish to forgive your child, but nothing has worked. Do you go to your second child, your good child, and punish it to atone for the sins of the first? In fact, if you ever saw a parent on the street punish one of their children for the actions of their other child, how would you react? Would you support their decision, or would you be offended? Because God punished Jesus -- his good child -- for the sins of his other children. Interestingly, some historical royal families would beat their slaves when their own children did wrong – you should not, after all, ever beat a prince. The question is: what kind of lesson does that teach the child who actually did the harm? Does it teach them to be a better person, to stop doing harm, or does it teach them both that they won't themselves be punished, and also that punishing other people is normal? I know that's not a lesson I would want to teach my children, and I suspect it's not a lesson most Christians would want to teach theirs. So why does God? For me, that’s at least one significant reason I find Jesus’ atonement of our sin to be morally repugnant – of course, that’s assuming Jesus ever existed; that original sin actually exists; that God actually exists; etc. Having another innocent person suffer for the wrongs you have done, --- so that you might escape responsibility for having done them, --- is immoral. Do you agree? If not, please show how it is morally and legally good to punish the innocent instead of the guilty, bearing in mind that all legal systems think that punishing the guilty is what is justice. Regards DL
  20. Who is your god? If your initial religion lied, to me they are all liars, --- except mine of course as it is based on reality, --- what makes you think your new one is telling you the truth of it's god? Regards DL
  21. No argument as to those changing religion. That is one of the many factors. Those who reject the religions religions altogether are likely refusing to sell their souls to Satan by bel;ieving in the supernatural and fantasy in their religions. They, perhaps, recognize that gods are to serve men and not men kowtow to some imaginary god. Regards DL
  22. Indeed, as shown by Dawkins' map. Most inherit their gods without thought to their poor morals and that is why vile demiurges like Yahweh and Allah continue to be followed. Regards DL
  23. That is likely due to my natural arrogance, criminal mind and delinquent attitude. You might have all or some of those but in smaller quantities. Regards DL
  24. There is that qualifier I spoke of above. Regards DL
  25. They say that it takes 10 times the energy to correct a mistake as compared to the little bit of energy used to do it right the first time. As with our topic here, you bring in the qualifiers or exceptions only after I ring them out of you. I think we are on the same basic page though as I have qualifiers that you did not try to wring out of me. I E. I think it immoral to lie but think it quite good to tell white lies. It is a matter of intent to do harm or intent to do good. Telling aunt May that her ugly dress is perfect for her is not immoral. In law, they have a term called mens rea. That is Latin for evil mind or evil intent and if a defendant is not shown to have an evil intent then he is not usually found guilty. Regards DL
