Eye of the Beholder

__________________

I am the eye of the beholder, the reason for sight,

I am the sun's fresh dawning, in space's cold, dark night.

I am the will-o-the-wisp drawing you towards all you've never seen.

Do you hear my teasing questions as I float by?

The answer to those questions will set you free.

I am concentric rings of being, and I may only be understood from above.

So toil, Brave One, give a day's honest work, and advance.

Rise higher in the stream of humanity, float to the surface.

Shed the Dream you revel in, awaken and feel the Truth which is ME.

And you will know who you are. And you will know where WE are going.

I AM the eye of the beholder.

Yes, it is mine.... I wrote it yesterday.... anyone like it?

Very much so! I'm especially in love with the imagery in your 6th line. Impressive! You seem to have a firm grasp in the fundamentals of poetry, obviously you write a bit. Do you have a writer's blog?

No, I write for myself. To allow certain thoughts out, if you will... I have been published in varied places, only because my family will submit things they are particularly fond of... I've never tried to publish anything...

Sometimes however, amongst the stacks of poetry I have, something will call to me... I'll drag them out and show a few people... but usually I write something, show a few people, and in the stacks it goes.....

I am aware of the guidelines for poetry.... I have indeed studied the process of writing poetry.... however, my poetry does not come to me in classical forms. I receive my inspiration in a stream of thought and seldom make changes... I usually have a thought which i must capture to be free of the compulsion... once it's released, I can go back to other things...

Thank you for your appreciation, I still don't honestly know why I feel compelled to share certain of my poems, but appreciation is nice.... :coffee:

A Momentary Grace

by Brother Michael

------------------

Though I feel those Passions stirring,

whispering from the dark, inferring -

that since I know this soul so well,

I must insist to desist somehow.

My Heart is ever Weary,while

my eyes have gone all bleary,

and I Long for just one

somewhat subtle Touch.

A familiar, brief, but lingering touch,

that calms the soul who's seen too much,

and suffers for the suffering

It once bore.

That touch which draws the attention to

The Moment - not the Moment's due.

The slick and slithering

Calm before the Storm.

That Moment when the walls could fall,

"I see the wolves, and damn them all"

That Moment which is

Harbinger of Change.

Yes, I feel those Passions stirring,

whispering from the dark - inferring

And i'm SO aware that in a Moment's

Choice is Fate.

Fate would have me travelling on,

an endless string of Dusk til Dawn,

Living life with Blindness

as my guide.

I must be the Pilot here, for

There's noone else who "gets" my weird,

There's noone else who can lead me

To my Home.

Because I feel those Passions stirring,

I'm aware of Live's recurring,

And I understand the WHY

Behind my HOW.

Yet I long for another Touch

within That Moment.....

this one's a bit greasy folks.... hope you like it...

I don't write much poetry anymore but the other night I was laying on

the dock with my sister, having a glass of wine and gazing up at a million

stars, there was a poem there..
