  1. thats cuz you have a thing for heath ledger and Jake..how ever you spell his last name. Actually, I've never had a "thing" for Jake G-whatever, but you've got me on the Heath thing.
  2. No doubt that the homo-phobes are against the movie. But are you categorizing all people that are turned-off by scenes of homosexual intercourse as homo-phobes? I for one am turned-off by it, or at least the male manifestation of it, but am far from a homo-phobe. Isn't it possible that people can not like the concept or movie, but not be unfairly marginalized as a -phobe? Just food for thought. Regards, Mike (A Lesbian Trapped in a Man's Body) I just had to re-read my own post, because I was certain I had posted something along the lines that it SEEMS like MOST of the bad reviews that *I* have heard come from homo-phobes. I never said that anyone who'd rather not watch two men in intimate situations is a homo-phobe. I never WOULD say that! My husband would rather not watch two men being intimate, but is far from a homo-phobe. I don't think that not getting off on watching two men together would cause him to dismiss the movie or give it a bad review, though. I don't happen to like watching people being beat up or murdered, but I don't automatically write off a movie as being bad because it contains violence/death. Back along the lines of sex, there are plenty of heterosexual people who'd rather not watch a man and a woman going at it on the screen either, it doesn't mean they don't like sex, they just don't want to see it. (But I'd hope they'd not give call a movie "bad" because it has sex in it.)
  3. I haven't seen it yet, will probably wait until it comes out on DVD since I rarely spend what it costs to see a movie in a theatre. I've heard mixed reviews, though most of the bad ones seem to come from homo-phobes. Other than sounding like an interesting story to me, I think it looks totally hot.
  4. My hubby and I just watched this last weekend and I liked it. I was interested not just in the story of the possession and exorcism, but the courtroom drama and outcome of the case. I didn't find extremly scary or gory, more interesting than terrifying.
  5. She's more cutsie than hot in this one, but still very easy on the eyes. It's the cutest movie I've seen in a long time.
  6. Never heard of it. I can assume that you're not into musicals then? I love them dearly.
  7. Am I the only one who's just tickled pink that Rent has been made into a movie? *can't wait*
  8. I thought it was totally adorable!!
  9. Why did I become a ULC Minister? It was an interesting chain of events, and a story I'm sure I've told more than once here. When my husband and I first got engaged, a friend of ours informed us that as an ordained minister, he'd be happy to perform our wedding. I absolutely did NOT believe that he was ordained. He told me about the ULC, the only doctrine of which was "Do that which is right", and that's what intrigued me. He explained that it wasn't about a specific religion or belief, but about religious and spiritual freedom. He gave me the website, and I checked it out that night. I still couldn't believe it could be that easy to become ordained, and I had to try for myself just to see if it was true. I take pride in my status as ULC Minister. I don't preach in a church or hold sermons. My ministry is about spreading peace and understanding to as many people as I can reach.
  10. Who the heck does he think he is???
  11. Well thanks for asking! Its coming along. Progress has been slow with self teaching, but I'm taking a couple of lessons now! That keeps me motivated to practice, so that there's noticeable improvement between lessons. (The fact that I have a HUGE crush on the guy teaching me doesn't hurt either. ) Oh, and Adrian, I really am going to listen to your music and add something useful to this thread. I promise! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> you're making people smile, how much more useful could your comments be? love, Adrian <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I did try to listen to some, but with my slow connection, it didn't work the best. One thing I will say is that I felt some vocal harmonies would REALLY help fill it out. I think that you're very talented, and I totally admire what you've done. I highly recommend learning to read music. I know that many people do just fine without that knowledge (as you obviously do) but it just helps it all make more sense, and makes it easier to learn other instruments. (I was having the hardest time with the guitar, because I couldn't understand it the way I understand a piano. On the piano, I knew which key was which note, and what all the intervals were, because I knew the layout of a keyboard and how to read music. Once someone explained to me which strings were which note on the guitar, and that each fret is a half step, I now have a much better grasp of it!) Sorry, that was rambly.... All I REALLY want to say is that I think you're on the right track, you sound good, and you should keep working on it.

  13. I confess, I'm totally turned on by music theory geeks.
  14. oh, no, trekkies are dorks... is there a name for the star wars obsessed? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That was an attempt (apparently a poor one) at humor on my part. Like, ha-ha, I'm a ditz and I think Star Wars and Start Trek are the same thing. I told my husband about it, and he didn't think it was very funny either, even after the explanation with my adorable giggle and facial expressions. He said "Say something about scruffy nerfherders, that'll get 'em going!" So ummm....You're all a bunch of scruffy nerfherders?
  15. Wow, I never knew how many dedicated "trekkies" we had here!
  16. she was ok. mousey cute... I personally thought her acting was flat.. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There is nothing wrong with mousey cute. (Said the mousey cute girl.) Who is Trillian?
