  1. Thank you! When I first returned, I was disappointed to hear that you had stopped posting once you reached 10,000.(Congratulations on your impressive post count!) It was a frivolous comment in response to your assertion that “humans now live outside nature” following my list of various practices found in nature, all of which I have no desire to participate in.Perhaps I should have added a smiley face...
  2. I would have to agree and, by that logic: murder, rape, theft, infanticide, cannibalism, homosexuality, and communism are also “natural and normal” since they routinely occur in nature. For the most part, I am content to live outside nature.
  3. I am not certain that I would be able to intentionally kill another person but I hope I could if I was the only one available to defend my family or myself from being assaulted. I used to feel differently about this. Several years ago I answered a similar question (with great conviction at the time), “Under no circumstances would I ever intentionally kill another person.” Another forum member (I believe it was Mr. Henry Lange) make me reconsider my position when he candidly challenged my stance, given that I am a parent. After much thought on the subject, I eventually changed my mind. I can come up with several scenarios that would cause me to accidently kill another person but, apart from the aforementioned reason, I cannot imagine what could cause me to intentionally take someone’s life. As an aside, I wonder if you were not making a subtle point that we humans are responsible for harming others, since no one said “carrying a firearm”.
  4. Thank you! I encourage him to deposit most of his money into his bank account for long-term goals and to save money outside of his account for other purchases. So, while he does have enough money saved in his bank account, he will not use it toward a Wii game.
  5. My seven-year-old has several golden dollars. At some point he began selling them to my ex-husband and ex-life partner for “normal dollars” at face value. This morning he informed me that he has decided to charge two normal dollars for each golden dollar, so he can make more money for the Wii game he has been saving for. My son has also decided to impose a “tax” of an additional dollar to anyone who is staying at our house for the day. Amusingly enough, he is so adorable when he explains it that I imagine he will have that Wii game in no time.
  6. Speaking of “missing the point”...I was using an "extreme example" (as you call it, Dan) to bring attention to the absurdity of you making broad generalizations while speaking in absolutes. Aren’t you touchy when a complete stranger makes unwarranted assumptions about you? It’s cute, really. Perhaps you should take your own advice, which you gave to Br. Devon earlier, and "Lighten up."
  7. So, according to your own logic, under the right circumstances: You, Dan, would molest a child. You, Dan, would torture an innocent. You, Dan, would rape a man or a woman. You, Dan, would commit murder. You, Dan, sound like a sociopath.
  8. lead and dead dude and nude cow and sow
  9. I would not do anything that went against my personal beliefs. Likewise, I do not feel I could bring myself to get past certain personal limitations. For example: I would not cut off any body parts. I would not torture, murder, or rape someone. I would eat domesticated animal flesh, such as cat or dog. I would eat human flesh, providing that it was obtained under humane circumstances and sanitary conditions. I would have sexual relations with someone if I would have sexual relations with them under normal circumstances. I would not have sexual relations with someone if I would be opposed to having sexual relations with them under normal circumstances. I would not have sexual relations with an animal or a corpse of any kind.
  10. I was left with "snap" because the other ones were a bit naughty when I put them together.Do I receive extra points for behaving?
  11. To me, as an agnostic, “good” and “evil” are merely concepts. I do not believe in the existence of any higher being or force that would have the authority to dictate such a thing as a universal “right” or “wrong”. I would say that depends on how you define “bad”. Some people seem to thrive as a direct result of being terrorized or use their traumatic experience to help others.
  12. I thought your birthday was June 14th?
  13. While I very much enjoyed Viggo as the devil, I felt Walken stole the show as Gabriel. So (and not just because I have a huge crush on him) I will go with Pacino.
  14. Yes, but that wasn't very PC of him so George had to change the fictional history.
  15. I know. Some of these dolls like a nice, hard...pistol to play with. That's what they tell me. I'm going down to see the bangtails with the new butter and egg man, who's got all that cabbage. I figure if I set him up with enough giggle juice, I might be able to glaum some spinach.
  16. I can think of a few ladies who probably wouldn't mind you whipping out something to lay across their cheeks.
