  1. Yes, exactly, Hoyt. He is so incredibly ridiculous and he doesn’t even realize it. I really think you need to see the documentary to understand.
  2. ...because I could not stop laughing, while watching Grizzly Man, which is the documentary about Timothy Treadwell. If you’re not familiar with the story, Tim liked bears...a lot. So much, so, that he decided to live with them. He thought of himself as a “warrior†and their “protectorâ€. He shouted “I love you†at them and spoke as if they were pals. He even named the bears. He investigated their poop, continuously commenting on how it came out of them. Alas, one of the bears finally ate him and his girlfriend. I can barely get through writing this, remembering how damn funny it was. I had to pause my TiVo several times, so I could finish my giggle-fit, before continuing. In my opinion, it should have won Best Comedy of the year.
  3. Dogma. I don’t recall any huge protest over that one. Though, Kevin Smith said he received some nasty letters about it.
  4. I still think Xena could’ve stood another season or two. It still had a very loyal fan base, even well after it ended. I was speaking of the live action series, which, unfortunately, was very short lived. It had Patrick Warburton as the Tick, who is just too adorable. I’m with Donny, on this one. It was all about Dick and Mary. It didn’t hurt that Sally was quite easy on the eyes, either. Oz was the series that opened the door for several other “movie channel showsâ€. It was set in a prison and had some of the most controversial characters and story lines. Many of the stars from Oz can also be seen on all three of the Law & Order shows. It’s All Relative was another short lived series, about a girl who grew up with two gay fathers. She just got engaged to an Irish Catholic boy, whose parents own a bar. Basically, it’s a comedy about star-crossed lovers. The reruns are currently being shown on LOGO, for anyone with DirecTV. ~ Elf
  5. Shows that ended, prematurely: 1. Oz 2. The Tick 3. It’s All Relative 4. 3rd Rock from the Sun 5. Xena: Warrior Princess
  6. Yes, I’ve heard the joke. I probably won’t see the movie because hearing the same joke, over and over again, sounds pretty damn boring, to me. Though, I didn’t find it all that funny, to begin with.
  7. I guess the church hates cowboys, now, too.
  8. Say it isn't so! Next, you’ll be telling me the boat sinks, at the end of Titanic... ~ Elf
  9. I am horrible with subtitles, so I’ll try to see if I can find it dubbed. Thanks for the recommendation. Oh, I love that movie! Though, I am quite the junkie, when it comes to films, so it is kind of like a chef saying that he or she loves a specific food. I believe I am one of the ten people who actually watched Battlefield Earth and one of the two, who liked it. Admittedly, I am still looking for the other one... ~ Elf
  10. I've heard of it, but have never seen it. Is it in French and, if so, does it have subtitles or is it dubbed? Broken Hearts was the very first movie I thought of, when I saw this thread. It always makes me laugh, cry, and swoon, no matter how many times I see it. Personally, I thought they were all hotties. While I normally don't dig "buff" guys, Dean just makes me melt, no matter what role he's in (except when he was playing Laci's husband in that made-for-tv movie). Have you seen him in Best Men? Yummy! He's also a gay character in that, as well. I had completely forgotten about Mahoney being in Say Anything. One of my favorite roles of his was in Primal Fear. Both he and Terry O'Quinn (I so love Terry) were great, for being side characters. ~ Elf

  13. I adore Koontz! My two personal favorites are, The Vision and Odd Thomas. Would The Funhouse be one of the "carnival" books you were thinking of? ~ Elf
  14. I rented the movie. I watched half an hour. I returned the movie. It was rancid. I was one of the five people who actually saw it! *laughs* Unfortunately, I was one of the few people who actually liked it. Though, I am still waiting to find that other person. *sighs* ~ Elphaba
