  1. I see that not much has really changed around here. It's comforting.
  2. I loved the X Files. but my nickname for the show was "The Silly Files." If Mulder and Scully ever called for backup, it would blow most of the plotlines.
  3. I'm much too tired right now to come up with a good comment, but I just wanted to say that I always enjoy reading your posts and please don't quit this forum ever again-and yes I know that forever is a really really long time.

  4. Deepest sympathy to you and your family in the loss of your dear mother Lida.
  5. The Blues. Sirius Blues is mostly what I listen to on the sattelite radio, but sometimes it's Broadway and Standards.
  6. I'm gonna wait till the crowds thin out.
  7. ... trying to be, but, most of the time people think im joking... No, Sirius Sattelite Radio. I'm too lazy to provide a link.
  8. We get the magazine each month by mail on a paid subscription basis. I have also signed up on their website to receive their emails that frequently have special offers on new and existing shows. I don't think that you have to subscribe to the magazine in order to get on their email list.
  9. Oh, sorry. I didn't look at what theatre it is. I found out because I get Playbill and their emails.
  10. Yes, you heard right,Sidd is a new Broadway musical based on Siddartha, the Hermann Hesse novel. Frankly, I don't know what to think. It seems rather bizarre to say the least. I'm not a fan of musicals based on the lives of holy men. I'm not a fan of Jesus Christ Superstar. What next? I kind of doubt that we'll be seeing one based on Mohammad any time in the near future.
  11. My So Called Life ended too soon. I still miss The X Files (or as I liked to refer to it, The Silly Files, I loved the bloopers and the buckets of black slime etc.)
  12. That would depend upon the laws in your state.
  13. Wow, a drive-in. They don't have them here anymore either. The Wal-mart sits on the spot where there used to be one. We saw Batman Begins at the Drive-in at Lake George though. A double feature with another movie that we were all too tired to watch.
  14. I'm hoping to see the movie this weekend, but it might wreck my Johnny Depp fantasies. Come to think of it though, it never wrecked my Gene Wilder fantasies. Oh, and about the Milanos; I found them at Pathmark-don't know if you have them out on LI. Be forewarned though, 3 cookies have 170 calories.
  15. You mean they actually have milano cookies that are sugar free? Let me at 'em! Chocolate!
  16. Be very careful of the sugar free variety. Some of them have an, ahem, laxative effect. Baskin Robbins has a very good sugar free mint chocolate chip hard candy.
  17. Chocolate.....must bring chocolate bar to see this movie.
  18. OK Joe, I can go with the hair thing, C3P0 does remind me of a guy who used to do my hair. It's the twin thing that gets me though. There's such a strong bond between twins, and yes I know that they're fraternal twins not identical, that I can't help but think that they would've sensed their bond since the Force is so intuitive. The Wookie pants almost make sense too. Egad, imagine a naked Wookie! What an animal. I'm afraid that I've been "Forced" to come to the conclusion that they're just movies, darn it all.
  19. I think it's a movie, a work of fiction. Over analyzing it just takes away all the fun. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wow, that's spooky Dave. That's what I was going to say. I'd rather suspend my logical mind in order to enjoy the movie. I don't want to get into questions that would remind me of the movie's flaws. Questions like: If the Force is so strong in Darth Vader, why did he not sense that Luke and Leia were his children? Why doesn't Leia's hair get messed up when she's been through battle? How does Darth Vader eat? If "The Force is strong in this one" (Luke) according to D. Vader, why doesn't he sense that he and Leia are brother and sister? I mean they're twins for cryin out loud! Star Wars is a series of movies. They have their flaws. That's just the way it is.
  20. There is no question she died in childbirth. She was shown still pregnant at the funeral to hide the fact that she had given birth so that Vader would not go looking for the kids. There is no speculation there either. The droid said she lost the will to live and that if they wanted to save the babied they'd have to operate right away. It wasn't the best writing I've seen. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I just got back from the theatre. I thought that the whole "lost the will to live" thing was really illogical. Here she is, just about to have the baby (ies), and she can't find the impending birth of her children motivation enough to go on living? What a crock. I don't think that I'm going out on a limb here to say that most women would be more concerned with the baby than with the baby's father. Oh, yeah, maybe it's because she's not human. Other than that, it was good, but a few too many objects going boom for my taste.
  21. I've found that the movie ratings are really inconsistant. One person's PG13 is another person's PG. For example, Pirates of the Carribbean was rated PG13, and I can't figure out why it wasn't rated PG. I just went to The Movie Mom, to get her take on the matter. She's usually very sensible about whether a movie is suitable: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Suitable for: Ages 10 and Up Release Date: April 29, 2005 MPAA Rating: PG for thematic elements, action and mild language Read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy review...
