“Every day they seek Me and want to know my ways, as if people who make righteous and do not forsake the laws of their God; they ask Me about the judgments of truth, they want to come closer to God:
"Why do we fast?" Can't you see? humble our souls don't you know? Here, on the day of the fast, you do your will and demand the hard work of others.
Now you are fasting for strife and strife, and also for striking others with a bold hand; At this time you do not fast, so your voice will be heard at the height.
Is this the post that I chose on the day when a person torments his soul, when he tilts his head like a cane and puts rags and ashes under it? Do you call this fasting acceptable to the Lord during the day?
Is this not the post that I chose? Release the chains of lawlessness, lift the heavy burden and free the oppressed, and you will break every yoke;
share your bread with the hungry, and bring the wandering poor into the house; when you see naked, put it on and don't hide from your half-breed.
Then your light will appear by daybreak, and your healing will soon increase, and your truth will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will follow you "(Is. 58: 2-8).
