There are a lot of Atheists, who say that they are waiting for evidence. I used to say this also. What happened? The same boring old arguments over and over again. Always, as if for the first time. First Cause -- the Watchmaker -- Pascal's Wager -- challenges to prove that God does not exist -- everything from nothing -- How come there are still monkeys? Crap about the Big Bang. I wouldn't mind so much, but it's always the same tired old arguments. The tedium has set in. Look at the crap that comes in, with the Agnostic label. People assume that the Agnostic cares. That the Agnostic is searching. Apatheism cuts it all out with -- I don't care.

One of my favorite quotes about the Bible: "The Bible is equal parts history, science and pizza." I have gotten to the point, where I can't take the Bible seriously, long enough, even to argue about it. I used to care. Now I don't. Dan helped me get there. Dan was a very small part in my journey, but he helped.

If that's the word you want to use. Alright then. "Stumped." nothing in that bronze age book of 'nonsense' can or has been proven false. Such a silly thing to say -- and so sweeping. What should I argue about? The Adam and Eve story? The Tower of Babel? Exodus? The Gospels? Nothing that I say will matter to you. I'm done here. And you tout it as though you had evidence that creationism is false.. Of course, Creationism is false. What support does it have, outside of Genesis? You expect me to argue about it? With you? I'm done here. now lets move on to what purpose they serve the earth? You think the rest of the Universe was put here -- to decorate our night sky? Attached to the "Firmament"? You cite Genesis as proof. Which part of this do you expect me to argue about? I'm done here. I can not think of any reason, to continue to argue with you. Clearly, it does no good -- and I'm tired of it. Maybe someone else cares enough, to argue with you. I'm done here.

I agree. This is Dan's faith in Genesis. Nothing so trivial as facts, science or external reality, will persuade Dan. Dan will simply go on insisting, that we are close minded. Because Faith. What are the stars? Little twinkly things, that God pasted on to the Firmament -- to decorate our night sky. An after thought on the fourth day. "He made the stars also."

Creationism has nothing going for it -- except that it's in Genesis. A book of mythology. It is for the Creationists, to demonstrate that Creationism is true. They have not done so. Until they do so -- Creationism is crap. Or do you really expect me to take Creationism, on faith? If Creationism were true, it's truth would have been verified by now.

Without turning to Belief or Scripture -- what do we actually know about God. Nothing. What is there about God -- which can be demonstrated to be true? Or false? Nothing. Not even God's existence, can be demonstrated to be a fact. We have no objective, verifiable information about God. Neither can we come up with a working definition of God. What are we even talking about? Belief and mythology. Nothing more. A god which can not be discerned, detected or demonstrated to exist, is irrelevant and meaningless. Even if the god exists, it doesn't matter. I have gone past Atheism. I am an Apatheist. I don't care any more.

I believe the bible is logical, but in a spiritual way that escapes nonbelievers.. Logic is logic. Like math is math. If your logic requires spirituality, it is not logic. If it requires belief, it is not logic. As I answered Pete, I believe the bible is logical, clear, and real.. Of course, you believe that. 😛 🤣

No insult intended, but you must admit that your not exactly open to biblical thinking. I care about critical thinking. I care about logical thinking. I care about clear thinking. I care about thinking based on reality. Biblical thinking is none of these. You pretty much misconstrue everything the bible teaches as an excuse not to believe it. I have not misconstrued anything. Your assertion to the contrary, does not make it so. I don't need "an excuse not to believe it." I need a reason to take it seriously. Your tedious lectures on faith, are not a reason, to take it seriously. You have engaged me for one reason. You are determined to replace my error, with your truth. This is explicit in everything you say to me. I am finding this tedious and unpleasant. If you expect subordination from me -- out of respect to your wonderful, culturally dominant faith -- you are in for a disappointment.

You're the one, who believes this mythology has anything to do with reality. Not me. I read the Book. I see the disconnects. Of course -- I think it's silly. I don't take prayer seriously. I don't take God seriously. God's protection is a fantasy. For all that, I know the standard theology. That silly, ludicrous theology. And I read the Book. If you would stop trying to persuade me that you're right -- about everything -- we would not be having this conversation. You want to proclaim your truth? I'm going to explain why I'm not buying.
