I don't think it is real.

To paint yourself in the exact perspective from which the camera is taking the photo and then stand in the exact position is I think impossible.

I think maybe one or two of those might be real and the others are superimposed or something similar. The front end loader and the one where he is standing in the garden really scream fake to me.

If he took a photo of the location, enlarged it or projected it onto a screen and then superimposed his silhouette on the image, he could then paint his face and clothes to match the perspectives he wanted. I think its authentic.

It's simpler than that. You set up a digital camera connected to a laptop and then paint yourself while looking at what the camera sees. :) Apparently, the process can take 10 hours... Edited by mererdog
