RobinD69
OK I have my ordination here with the ULC, my wife is a Notary, we would like to know how we would go about advertising and performing wedding serimonies. Do we have to be registered in our area? Do we charge? If so what do we charge? What legal hoops do we need to jump thru?
RevHallford
According to this page...MONTANAMinisters of the gospel of any denomination may perform marriages. --- Ministers must complete and return a marriage certificate to the clerk of the district court within 30 days after the marriage. Also the minister must provide marriage certificates to the bride and groom upon request. ---For questions see the clerk of the district court.Edited to add, Lots of wedding sites on the interwebs have minister sections. You could also set up a website which details the services you provide. As for charging, depends on why you are doing it. I know many ministers who refuse to charge anything while others charge according to the complexity of the gig... We hadnt even really thought about providing the service before and were just curious.
Dorian Gray
http://data.opi.state.mt.us/bills/mca_toc/40_1.htmThere is the laws right from the source. An intresting note is montana is the only state that allows a double proxy wedding, and there are some groups that make a profit doing those.
