  1. If you haven't done so already, you can become ordained by the ULC - that would mean that one member of your group is ordained, and thus would allow your group to become an official ULC congregation, which could assist you in your plans.

  11. Basically as I understand it, Pennsylvania requires an ordained minister to have a "regular congregation" prior to being allowed to perform marriages. The issue with the ACLU is that if someone is an ordained minister, he/she may not have a "regular congregation" but that this requirement discriminates against ministers who provide ministerial assistance to the military services, teaching ministers, etc. who may not be allowed to marry people then. At least this is how I understnad it based on the information I read. As the ULC does not require an ordained minister to have a "regular congrgation", this means that an ordained ULC minister may not be allowed to perform marriage in Pennsylvania.

  19. I understand dirishi1's position. I personally never have, nor never will receive a flu shot. I cannot even remember the last time I had the flu to begin with, but I also know I few people who have been "under the weather" for a few days after receiving a flu shot. I am also not convinced that they are entirely effective as there are many strains of the flu, and the idea is that the flu shot will protect you from the strain of the flu which is supposed to be the problem in a given year. However this does not stop you from getting another strain of the flu - at least this is how I understand it.
  20. I would perhaps suggest checking with a lawyer about it, but as long as you are giving spiritual/religious guidance, you should be okay.
