Oh, what a night!
Yep, thats me with youngatheart looking over 2 generations. Zachary is doing well as is his beautiful mother, who by the way spent a grueling 19 minutes in actual labor.
I hated the idea of becoming a grandfather at 49, but there was something about holding a tiny life in my hands that changed everything.
I had planned to say something special over him when I held him for the first time......., a wish........, a wish that God would guide him as he had guided me. But when I held him and looked at him, my breath was stolen away, because I knew that my wish had already come true.
and congratulations to you, too!!!

Just got done reading I Am Legend. If the movie is like the book, I'll pass. But then again, Hollywood changes books so much, it probably won't even be anything like the book. I'm still in the process of reading Anam Cara, A Book of Celtic Wisdom. And, after school gets back in session, my classes will be reading Esperanza Rising and To Kill A Mockingbird.
Is it just me, or does it seem that books written now are less challenging and thought provoking than those written 10-20+ years ago?
nope, you're correct

Hi Heart of Fire,
I am proud to say that those words never fit into my life at any time or in any place I have ever been.
Peace & Love!
is that a slam on my material,
or an observation that you're not on the receiving end of it?

The emptiness of your world is laughable
Pathetic, at least,
As you strive for aquisition, power,
Taking no heed
Of anything that really matters!
Fool! You swirl in discontent
Without a soul, blaming all for your misery
Bringing shame to those who gave you life
And spitting in the face of God
As you covet, steal, and try so hard to rise above
Your self-imposed state of nothingness!
Have you yet realized that your little props
Cannot bring you manhood
You weak little bastard
Who does not have what it takes
To gain by honesty or truth!
But keep on spinning your yarns
Strangle yourself with your own deception
While your little machines head for the junkyard.
So will you- in time, so will you.
For I am indeed mightier than your swords.

did you have any particular writers who inspired/influenced you? (famous ones, that is!)

I don't know where in the forum to post this question:
one of my manuscripts is ready with the exception of the cover. I'd counted on using a photo I'd taken a few years ago, but can't find it & cannot seem to come up with anything as appropriate. I don't have the option of re-taking the picture, as it was in a different state. it's a photograph of a mural-- my question is, in that I know some very talented artists, would it be considered copyright infringement if someone were to simply draw a "kinda like a copy" of the mural, possibly making just a couple of changes or something so it would be a little different from the original?
I know some murals DO have copyright signs on them, but I'm not sure about this one.
