  1. Looking for a prayer to say for my mother who died last August. Have not found any, but thought I might ask here. BTW, my father passed 9 years ago. Thank you.
  2. I have seen those, thank you. I was looking for something maybe belonging to members of the forums. Just the same thank you for posting the link. It will help new members. :-)
  3. Greetings. Does anybody here know of any blogs/vlogs or podcasts by ULC Seminary members I might be interested in following? Thank you. P.S. Does the ULC have a blog or podcast?
  4. Hello. I am wondering how many here have done a web search for sermons by others of Christianity's Priests, Pastors, Ministers, etc. Have you quoted them? Have you used them to write your own? How long do you keep them (in terms of number of paragraphs)? For those with your own congregations, do have loose copies of your past sermons for parishioners to pick up & take home? Or do you offer to email the sermon(s) to them? Or do you post them on a web page for them to download and/or print out? Thank you for your time and consideration.
  5. Thank you. But for reasons of privacy I did not want to use the persons actual name. And I did not want to assume I had permission without asking him. And thanks for the recommendation for the glutamine. ๐Ÿ™‚
  6. Thank you for your honesty and frankness. And for the opinion as well.
  7. I am a practicing Druid. But part of that is respecting other people faiths. And to show respect to the individual the respect they deserve. Thus I decided to do a Christian prayer. But over all I never tried to write a christian prayer before. And if I do so again, I want to know what I did wrong. Or how I can make better. Nine Blessings.
  8. I have an assistant project manager who is in for a triple by-pass. I wrote a prayer. my first. Please read and offer suggestions on how to improve, if improvement is needed. Thank you. We pray to the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. We pray for our co-worker assistant project manager's name. For him we ask โ€œHave compassion on me, LORD, for I am weak. Heal me, LORD, for my bones are in agony.โ€ ~ Psalm 6:2. And โ€œThe LORD will sustain him upon his sickbed; In his illness, You restore him to health.โ€ ~ Psalm 41:3. We pray for a quick recovery from his operation. For this we are reminded: โ€œLord, your discipline is good, for it leads to life and health. You restore my health and allow me to live!โ€ ~ Isaiah 38:16 Thank you in advance for the feedback.
  9. This is why I am asking. Simply put, I do not want to offend anybody. And your answer has helped to educate me. Thank you, meredog.
  10. NOTE: If this is in the wrong forum, I apologize and ask the admin to move it. Thank you. I apologize if this comes across wrong, but here goes... The Catholic faith is the Christian religion most widely known (according to my knowledge) to pray to the Saints in Heaven. I do not know if others, such as Baptists or Lutherans, do as well. The reason I say this is because of healing. Do members of the Lutheran faith pray to Saint Raphael for healing? Do they even acknowledge his existence? Or the other Saints? Or does the Lutheran faith merely promote simply praying to God & Jesus or The Father, The Son & The Holy Spirit for all their woes & ailments? I am asking this as a ordained ULC Minister. As I do my duty as such I may be called upon to help others and pray with them. I am asking because I do not want to unintentionally insult them or their faith. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
  11. ReverendDaveULC- Thank you for a thought provoking post of a sermon. But May I ask one favor? Can you mark the scripture by italics? Or barring that, mark your words by putting them in either italics or in bold text? I ask for this favor because the text of scripture and your thoughts are running together. Thank you. And have a Blessed day....
  12. OK, I'll just say it.... Finances. For those starting out as either a minister for hire, or as a minister with a congregation, is there a preferred finance application or template for either MS Excel or Money and/or Apple Numbers? How did you customize it for your ministerial duties? What was the easy part? What was the hard part? Now for the question with a curve: What did you learn about yourself throughout the learning/customizing process? P.S. I apologize if this is in/on the wrong board. Administrators, please feel free to move it to the right area.
