Prayer, Praying and the Saints in Heaven...

This is why I am asking. Simply put, I do not want to offend anybody. And your answer has helped to educate me. Thank you, meredog.
  2. NOTE: If this is in the wrong forum, I apologize and ask the admin to move it. Thank you. I apologize if this comes across wrong, but here goes... The Catholic faith is the Christian religion most widely known (according to my knowledge) to pray to the Saints in Heaven. I do not know if others, such as Baptists or Lutherans, do as well. The reason I say this is because of healing. Do members of the Lutheran faith pray to Saint Raphael for healing? Do they even acknowledge his existence? Or the other Saints? Or does the Lutheran faith merely promote simply praying to God & Jesus or The Father, The Son & The Holy Spirit for all their woes & ailments? I am asking this as a ordained ULC Minister. As I do my duty as such I may be called upon to help others and pray with them. I am asking because I do not want to unintentionally insult them or their faith. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
  3. ReverendDaveULC- Thank you for a thought provoking post of a sermon. But May I ask one favor? Can you mark the scripture by italics? Or barring that, mark your words by putting them in either italics or in bold text? I ask for this favor because the text of scripture and your thoughts are running together. Thank you. And have a Blessed day....
  4. OK, I'll just say it.... Finances. For those starting out as either a minister for hire, or as a minister with a congregation, is there a preferred finance application or template for either MS Excel or Money and/or Apple Numbers? How did you customize it for your ministerial duties? What was the easy part? What was the hard part? Now for the question with a curve: What did you learn about yourself throughout the learning/customizing process? P.S. I apologize if this is in/on the wrong board. Administrators, please feel free to move it to the right area.

    Prayers & Blessings

Thank you. That is very beautiful. Blessings!
  7. A wise woman who was traveling in the mountains found a precious stone in a stream. The next day she met another traveler who was hungry, and the wise woman opened her bag to share her food. The hungry traveler saw the precious stone and asked the woman to give it to him. She did so without hesitation. The traveler left rejoicing in his good fortune. He knew the stone was worth enough to give him security for a lifetime. But, a few days later, he came back to return the stone to the wise woman. I’ve been thinking, he said. I know how valuable this stone is, but I give it back in the hope that you can give me something even more precious. Give me what you have within you that enabled you to give me this stone. – Unknown

    Smart Phones

Thinking about getting a new phone. I have been a Mac guy for for sometime now. But I'm thinking of getting an android phone this time. So, with that said, what are pros & cons of switching to an android phone? Thanks in advance....

    Brother Timothy Clark Discusses Baptism

Brother Timothy, the link provided no longer works. Do you have any of your lectures on youtube?
  11. I am a member of The Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids. And therefore am a Pagan. I have been writing in a journal various prayers and blessings. While most are Celtic in origin, I have a few viking and buddhist prayers as well. All or most I have found on social media. My mother and father are members of the Lutheran faith. To honor my father who passed on July 19, 2010, I have so far transcribed The Nicene Creed as taught by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. And I will be transcribing The Apostles' Creed as well. And I got to wondering if my fellow ministers have any favorite prayers or blessings that are regularly used in their services. Prayers, blessings, and scripture. And I thank you in advance.
  12. Has anybody here done (any kind of) service at hospital and have people request prayers? Have you given them prayer request cards to fill out & return to you? I am just asking.... Thanks.
  13. As Ministers, Priests, Chaplains, Shamans, etc., are we to assume we are allowed to create brochures that reflect the core values/beliefs of our religion (Christianity, Buddhism, Wicca & Druidry)? And what about brochures that discuss what the ULC is and does? Are they on the website for us to download and print as needed? Or are there really none that presently exist? Thanks.
  14. And if you have The Print Shop (for Mac or Windows) or some other similar design software you can design and print your own cards, most times 10 [cards] to a sheet. And depending on the business card stock & the chosen template, you can do 2 (double) sided printing. For the Mac version of The Print Shop go here: http://www.mackiev.com/printshop3/features/whatsnew.html It's what I use.
