  1. (He says jokingly) I find this mildly insulting....seeing as though I can trace direct lineage to Rebecca Nurse (nee Towns), she was my Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Grandmother.

Funny thing is....she wasn't a Witch, and I am

Edited to include: Before you ask me who she is, get a copy of The Crucible

  2. He avoids what I call the 'People in Fursuits' syndrome, which is to write 'animal ficiton' simply personifying the animals as acting like humans. Adams has the characters acting on realistic concerns and non-human perspectives, translated into human language.

I can't even really think of any other animal characters in any fiction that springs to mind as much as Adams'. King has some in his stuff, like Oy in DT or the dog in Insomnia, both those are just memorable portrayals from a human perspective.

Buy, Oy in the DT series was meant to be somewhat human, if memory serves (and it does occasionally, through the bong resin)

  3. To Be effective, ANY governing body for the wiccan/pagan/polytheists of the world would have to be so open to ideas, that it would almost self destruct. Speaking for myself, the reason why I chose a solitary path was to avoid outside influence. I would, however, love to see some kind of advisory board/committee that would help those of us interested in hospital/police/fire chaplain services.

  4. Even as an atheist I do not believe that the theory of evolution is a scientific fact, its just a best guess.

    4. (countable) (sciences) A logical structure that enables one to deduce the possible results of every experiment that falls within its purview.

"The theory of relativity was proposed by Einstein."

    -Wiktionary

Most often the word Theory, when used in a scientific context, means facts stemming from research.

  5. I once had a good friend who is an Anglican Priest... we were discussing Creationism Vs. Evolution one day and he explained it to me like this.... He believes in evolution (after all, the word theory, when used in the phrase Theory of Evolution, means scientific FACT), and also believes in Creationism. He stated to me that God put life on Earth in it's earliest forms, then stood back and watched what happened. Therefore, Adam & Eve, one might say, were unicellular organisms in a pool of primordial ooze.

Therefore, I also do not believe that science and religion must be at odds....

    OK, atheists....attack away!
