Bearhugs, You mentioned it above, but I'd like to repeat it: find another job. I honestly believe this could be a "no win" situation, and you're up against powerful people who don't give a flip about you. I agree that the "let me check with the person 'above you' who really knows your faith better than you" crap is annoying. But, you know what? They don't care. You can't make them care.
