Thanks for the leads... I'm not fundamentalist, but I am a Christian, and I appreciate the opportunity to expand my knowledge. Thanks!

( And West Virginia is "almost Heaven")

You might consider joining the National Association of Christian Ministers. Membership is free so are several of the training classes. A couple of others cost but not much, I think one of the courses is $19. nacministers.org

  2. Sounds similar to Florida's new law.

Florida Gov. Rick Scott has finally approved the "Pastor Protection Act", which aims to protect clergy members if they refuse to perform same-sex marriages.

Sounds like a good thing to me. the LGBT community has sued pretty much anyone that hasn't seen things their way. It is just a matter of time before they  start suing clergy for refusing to perform a ceremony for them.

  3. Just make sure you get the paperwork done correctly.

I have performed literally hundreds of weddings in Michigan from 1999 to 2008, only had an issue once when the couple was from out of state. In which case the wedding has to be performed in the county the license was issued, in their case a relative was a clerk and helped them get the license.

I went ahead with the wedding but asked them to get a new license before I would sign it.

It is a good idea to keep a record of the names on the license as well, I have received a few calls asking what so-an-so's name was supposed to be. I recommend some type of professional record book, I use the "Ideal Church Record".

The number of copies of the license can vary from county to county as well.

Basically it boils down to Yes as an ordained ULC minister you can perform weddings in Michigan with no problems.

  4. Has anyone read "The Ultimate Frontier"?

"An account of the ancient Brotherhood and their profound, world-wide influence during the last 6000 years. This book explains the mysteries of human existence intelligently and provides a moving and practical message of hope." From the back cover.

It talks about Atlantis, Lemuria, karma, the coming world changes etc.

rather strange as it is kinda written as an autobiography but is rather strange fiction. It is classified as non-fiction or at least that's what is says on the front cover.

You can find it at http://www.adelphi.com
