Weddings - the marriage of one man to one woman as ordained in Scripture, including those who are currently divorced. I believe that Scripture supports remarriage after divorce.
Funerals
Baptism - Immersion. The symbolic, public profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, having no power of itself to forgive Sin. It is simply one of the first outward signs of the indwelt believer. It signifies the passage from death in Sin (the believer standing in the water), the voluntary submission to the will of Christ in dying to Sin (the believer being taken under the water), and the resurrection into new life in Christ Jesus (the new Christian rising up from the water) leaving his/her old life behind. |
| This I Believe: |
I believe in one God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, Very God of Very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father by whom all things were made; who for mankind, and for our salvation, came down from heaven, was born by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary, and became an infant. He grew and was strong in wisdom and stature until He began His teaching Ministry. The culmination of which was His crucifixion under Pontius Pilate. Whereby He suffered, died and was buried, and the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures. Afterward, He ascended into heaven, and now sits at the right hand of the Father where He intercedes on our behalf.
And He shall come again with Power and Great Glory to judge both the quick and the dead, And His kingdom shall have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, who exists co-equally with the Father and the Son as the third person of the Trinity. Who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified, and who spoke through the prophets.
I believe the "Church" is not made up of Denominations, but of all who call upon the name of the Lord and worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. As Jesus Himself said, "A house divided against itself can not stand." (Mat.12:25)
I acknowledge one baptism as an outward sign of faith. Symbolic of one's following Christ in death, burial and resurrection.
Also, I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen
