RevDan
Hello everyone!I may be doing a baptism soon and was wondering where I could find details as to the variations/procedures for the various denominations or if anyone here could help with some information. I'm not sure yet of the type of baptism being requested, and so any information would be helpful. Also, what is normally charged for a baptism? Thanks for your help! =)Rev. jba
HiThe U.L.C. store has books that might help you.You may ask the ministers of the other churches to help you. When I was going to preform my first marriage I asked my son in law to help me. He went to school to become ordained so I thought he would have more information than I did. He would not help me because I was ordained on line and he did not consider it valid. I found the information I needed by putting wedding ceremonies in the Google search engine. The wedding went off with out a hitch. The bottom line is, ministers from other denominations might help you and they might not. If you ask another minister be prepared to be refused help. I have not asked other ministers for help other than ones on the forum. I would try online information first.Good Luckjba

RevAllyson
I realize it may be somewhat controversial, however... http://www.themonastery.org/?destination=m...iscourseBaptism has some. Here's a checklist: http://www.christeningessentials.com/ceremony_checklistAnd this one is good, too: http://www.beliefnet.com/ep/baptism.aspAlso, if you go to any good quality Christian supply store, like Lifeway for instance, you will find something probably called "the Minister's little black book" which has all sorts of ceremonies, from Christienings to Baptisms to Weddings and funerals, etc.
Sr.Sue
...or you can try the Book of Common Prayer...(available in most book stores). It contains an order of service for sundays, as well as baptisms, confirmations, weddings, etc.....

RevAllyson
I'll admit that I'd much rather have the book in hand, than d/l it off the 'net, however... Since my practice is not Christian in nature, but more pagan, I don't keep a full copy of most Christian documents, other than the Bible, and the Mormon books, which I use for reference. If I have need of a prayer or ceremony that is Christian, I will just d/l it, but print it nicely and bind it (having a geek for a life partner is rather nice... it's great being able to bind a small book for yourself LOL), so that I have a physical thing to tote around with me.One of these days, I want to get a PDA that can handle e-books, though. It'd be awful nice.
