Hello,

is there anyone who knows more about the laws in Germany? As far as I know, it is not allowed to officiate marriages. But I would like to know more. For example, whether it is legal to name oneself "Reverent" or "Pastor". ... etc.

Thank you so far

Best regards

Kevin

it's been a long time since i was in germany, and the laws are different now than they were then.i would advise you contact a ulc minister there and ask them.i know that religious titles were allowed under law(revrend, rabbi, iman, father)but when it came to titles such as doctor, that was an entirely different story.

If I am not mistaken, to be legally wed in Germany you only have to have a civil marriage done by government officials. The religious wedding ceremony is separate and is not considered to be the legal one, but is just done for ceremonial/religious purposes.
