I have an epiphone bass. It has great sound quality. I never hear too many complaints about the company. Although, I'm looking to eventually get a B.C. rich

Wouldn't mind having a Dot or Dot Studio myself. I have always liked epiphone archtops. I had a Washburn hollowbody that had a great feel to it... if it weren't for UPS smashing the heck out of the neck during shipping. While playable, I couldn't bear the idea of paying so much for a broken guitar and sent it back. I decided that I won't buy anything like that through the catalogs again.

In addition to 10 other guitars, I have an Epiphone Sheraton II electric archtop. It's an excellent guitar.

SwEET! One of Epiphones great contributions to music! Like the Casino or the DOT, I wish I had one.

People often forget that Epiphone is its own company and have their own guitars, although they are bought out by Gibson, they still retain their independence and identity.

I have my sights set on a Epiphone SG with a natural wood finish and two humbuckers with a fixed bridge, although I do like and use a whammy bar, I just like this particular model. Funny that the girls all say the SG is an ugly guitar, but what do they know”? They think my cheap imitation strat is the best looking because...well, it is a good looking guitar but its still cheap junk..of course to the audience, whoever they may be, they don't know or care whether you have a real strat that costs thousands or a cheap imitation.

Personally, I was disappointed when I saved up my money to go and buy a real Fender, it was a Telecastor, nothing fancy, just your standard issue Tele, but it was a “real”, made in America model and I felt that it wasn't worth the inflated price.

Nowadays I mess around with and put together my own gear, because I just don't care, I have no one to answer to these days just messin' round in my basement with my old “vintage” equiptment and 64 tracks using the Cakewalk software.. I also use Linux coz its free.

Ibanez is a great value and similarly priced to Epiphone, although my Ibanez Roadstar actually exploded on me...really, I could have been injured ...it has this stupid “floating tremelo” which means that if you break one string the whole thing goes out of tune, which is not such a big deal for home recording but it really sucks if your playing live...which then makes the name “roadstar” kind of oxymoronic since its not a good “gig” guitar.

B.C. Rich...oh yeah, I had a Rich Son of A Rich, I traded it in along with my Les Paul to buy the Ibanez, which latter exploded on me..thats the kind of luck I have...

And the Matrix, they were made by Ovation, right? So I guess its a round back with a built in pickup?

One of my favorite guitars that I ever had was actually a Yamaha 120SD. It was a natural finish telecaster style that played as well as any high end guitar that I've played. I loved that guitar, but I had to trade it in when my bass rig blew up. It was the only instrument that I could do without since I'm primarily a bassist (and now drummer).

I hate tremelo systems, period!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Give me a tune-a-matic bridge and I'm quite satisfied.
